Presently, I am working as Research Associate on various antibody engineering projects at AbGenics Life sciences Pvt. Ltd. Pune.

During Ph.D. tenure, I have worked on the development of recombinant tetravalent dengue DNA vaccine and its immunogenicity and efficacy in mice. I have submitted Ph.D. thesis to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik.

A Medical Microbiologist having a total of 11+ years of work experience. Worked on ICMR funded dengue vaccine research project as Senior Research Fellow at Haffkine Institute, Mumbai, India; QC Officer at Serum Institute of India Ltd. Pune, India and Research Associate & Laboratory technician at National AIDS Research Institute (NARI), Pune, India on various international collaborative research projects of International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, New York, and John Hopkins University, USA such as Phase 1 HIV vaccine trial, HPTN, HVTN etc.

Research Project Undertaken

1. The research project titled “Immunogenicity study of recombinant Dengue gene construct in mice” was undertaken for Ph.D. (Medical Microbiology) degree under the guidance of Dr. (Mrs) Ranjana A. Deshmukh, Former Director & Visiting Scientist, and Co-Guidance of Dr. Abhay Chowdhary, Director, Haffkine Institute, Mumbai.

Highlights of work:

Constructed a novel recombinant tetravalent DNA vaccine comprising dengue envelope domain III

Determined immunogenicity by analyzing neutralizing antibody response and cytokine gene expression

Determined efficacy in mice.

2. The research project titled “INCIDENCE OF GROUP-B BETA HAEMOLYTIC STREPTOCOCCI IN THE VAGINAL FLORA OF PREGNANT WOMEN AND ITS TRANSMISSION TO THE NEONATES” was undertaken for M.Sc. (Medical Microbiology) degree under the guidance of Dr. S.G. Pawar, Professor

& Head, Department of Microbiology, Government Medical College, Miraj (MH) India. Highlights of work:

Determined incidence of group-B beta haemolytic Streptococci in the vaginal flora of pregnant women and its transmission to the neonates

Compared different sample transportation methods
