“A Randomized Double-Blind Placebo-Controlled, Parallel Group Trial Assessing The Rate Of Decline Of Lung Function With Tiotropium 18mcg Inhalation Capsule Once Daily In Patients With Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).”

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (CLINICAL RESEARCH):

1.Perform IVRS transactions e.g. acknowledge drug shipment, enroll a new patient, register a screen failure, randomized a patient & assign first medication, assign drug for a subsequent visit, terminate a patient from trial medication, review information on a patient.

2.Fax, receives, submits and files communications.

3.Transmit electronic data via the internet.

4.Transmit printed spirometry results.

5.Perform spirometry.

6.Dispense study drug.

7.Train, dispense handihaler / Re-train handihaler use.

8.Collect used and unused medication foils and capsules.

9.Account drug supplies.

10.Administer Saint George Respiratory Questionaire (SGRQ).

11.Check medication wash out compliance.

12.Check for completeness of CRF and source documents.

13.Make constant communications with the patient included in the study.

14.Monitor refrigerator temperature twice a week and record it in the temperature log.

15.Calibrate spirometry every PFT visit and record it in the calibration log.

16.Ensure the adequacy of study drugs, rescue medications and supplies needed in the study.
