“Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth” - Shirley Chisholm,

African American politician and activist

Dear Sir / Madam:

It has been my life’s mission to serve others. My work experiences and job choices have afforded me the opportunity to learn and serve in ways I otherwise wouldn’t have known. I have determined in whatever capacity the opportunity presents itself, it not only my moral obligation, but also my responsibility to pay it forward. It is with this adage that I look forward to having privilege of meeting with you to discuss how having me in this position would be an asset to your organization.

Currently at Superior Retail, I am working as an Instore Marketer for some of the top Fortune 500 companies and as a management trainer. I have been with the company since January of 2016 and have trained (8) people within my own team as well as helped to train several more in the office on the team of others. I have been sent to (3) regional meetings (two in Chicago and one in Dallas) since I have been with the company and was promoted to Team Leader two months after being hired. I am a team player with a natural ability to identify and develop others. I was recently recognized corporately for my outstanding representation of the services we market as well as having a great relationship within the retailers in which we work through.

I am also an Ambassador of Kingdom United Ministries Network.

I am both a weekly as well as monthly host of two of the internet radio broadcasts and occasionally on others, Director and Co-producer, editor and production manager of the broadcasts, our pages on Social media sites and on our own website. My duties include (but not limited to) daily maintenance of the website which includes creating new pages for guest, creating broadcast descriptions and updating the Blogtalk internet radio episodes which often include uploading pre-recorded shows that have been edited by myself, Promotion of every broadcast through the various Social Media groups, seeking and interviewing potential guest and their managers. This is a voluntary position of which is no monetary gain. I have been involved in this ministry for several years and on this level of internet ministry since November of 2011of which is all voluntary.

In my most recent employment position, I was responsible for the servicing of both internal and external complaints throughout the various aspects of PNC Bank. I gained a skill set that included servicing Business Banking customers, Credit Cards, Consumer as well as Commercial loans, online banking and Customer Care Consulting.

During my six-year assignment at PNC, I created, submitted and was corporately recognized during 2010-2011 for a slide show presentation in which I incorporated Customer product knowledge with the Visa Points program. Although the program was not adopted, I was awarded on two levels as the idea was presented for my enthusiasm, “thinking out of the box” and creativity.

Prior to my six-year contribution to PNC, I worked at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission where over the course of a combined five-year assignment there, I worked as a Women’s Shelter Supervisor, a

Statistics Analyst for the Women’s & Family Shelter and Director of (then) Wee Hope Childcare

Program. As Statistics Analyst, I redesigned and customized daily, weekly and monthly sign in sheet for accurate reporting. These kept accurate records for those in both the transient shelter for Women as well as the Women’s, Children and Family Shelters.

Also, during this time, I became certified as a Para-professional and worked for the then charter school Kalamazoo Advantage Academy where I worked the after-school program at first, but later did substitute teaching assignments. In 2005, I worked full time at both positions (the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission and at Kalamazoo Advantage Academy) while I substituted a kindergarten class for eight weeks while the teacher was on maternity leave. It was here where I became more acquainted with the roles of teachers and the issues that many of them face along with parent and student issues that were the same, and also some very different than my own.

It was during my directorship of the childcare that I transformed the daycare into a bonafide program. My passion for family restoration inspired me to incorporate mother and child bonding through scheduled field trips and other activities with the women and children of the short term shelter as well as the long term Family Hope recovery program. I also brought in other Children Ministries (Puppet Ministries) and services from the community who shared their gifts and talents with those in the program and established a community awareness of our program with local recreational and educational organizations.

While Director of the Mt. Everest Memorial Park, I was honored to have facilitated and organized two of the Memorial Day Services held at the park. I was the spokesperson for the Channel 3 News coverage for the latter. I was also asked to develop a proposal for the local churches to purchase a selected parcel of cemetery plots for their At-need burial members who’d had no prior arrangements. This proposal was submitted and presented by myself along with then Park Administrator Kirk Carpenter and Regional Manager Randy Edwards at the Northside Ministerial Alliance in 2003.

I thank you in advance for the opportunity to meet with you personally and discuss how my experience and qualities would be an asset to this organization.

With the kindest regards,

Sondra L. Lewis
