EXPERIENCE
I have done:
EPDM, PDM, and Windchill experience.
Design stress analysis (FEA) using Simulation/Cosmos with 3D model
prototypes, stress, pressure, drop test simulations.
Designed complex sub-assemblies keeping center of gravity in a specific
location, for weapon technologies to remain functional, balanced and
predictable. Designed specialty tools to create "form specific" tools for
milling and turning operations. Circular form tools, form drills, roll
letter stamps, and broaches. Figured the force required to move metal with
a controlled reaction to a series of controlled hammer blows (forging).
Material strengths, pressure capabilities, for subsea structures and
systems, products and storage components. Tools and tooling systems for
remote operated vehicles . Test procedures, and setup instructions. Change
order initiation, documentation, and review. Design and drawing checker for
functionality, and manufacture.

06/2015 - 02/2016 (contract position thru Alliance Keystone)
Solidworks designer, using EPDM and Master Control for data and
document control.
Modified and redesigned a series of three large shipping skids for 10 -
20 ton subsea pipeline connection collets. Added position locks to increase
safety of loading and unloading. Modified mounting and clamping structure
to simplify use and manufacture.
Designed/Modified control panels and mounting structure used on collect
connectors. Modified lifting clamp fixtures, seal maintenance tools, test
fixtures and connection hubs. Processed Engineering change orders through
documentation process. Created accompanying documentation for designs and
changes, i.e..- BOMs, ECRs, long lead items BOMs, Assembly drawings,
Machine drawings, Weldment drawings, General Arrangement drawings,
interface drawings, tolerance stack ups, Maintenance and Operations Manuels
- MOMs, GD&T, ANSI, API.

Develop products, drawings, BOM, project quotes, operation and
maintenance manuals - OMMs, deployment inventories. Detailing parts,
assemblies, material and finish selection, build tooling, for ROV
operations. Jacking tools, chemical injection systems, cleaning tools, load
cells, hydraulic cutting tools, wire clamping tools, valve panel
assemblies, hydraulic systems to run from ROVs at 2K - 7K psi. High
pressure systems up to 25K psi. FEA - pressure systems, structures, parts,
and assemblies. ROV gauge and control panel layout, piping, and mounting.
All tools and operations were developed for Remote Operated Vehicle use.
Drafted forms for: documentation, purchasing, and drawing/design policies,
to be in conformance with regulations.

The Subsea Company, Houston TX
10/2011 - 08/2012
New product development. FEA, System design, part design, high pressure
systems, structural, machining, assembly, coatings/plating, safety, Subsea
environment.
Develop products, and systems, for example: designed and built a positive
pressure lubrication reservoir for a subsea solids processing unit.
Detailing parts, assemblies, build tooling, test diagrams/procedures, and
jigs. ROV panel interfaces, accumulator racks, riser clamps and clamp
racks. Custom pressure compensator designs for specific uses. FEA -
pressure systems, structures, parts, and assemblies. Force, pressure, and
drop test simulations using Solidworks Simulation. Drafted policies,
documentation, and drawing practices.

Freelance design projects (2010-2011)
2009-2011-Worked in an unrelated field.
Modern Forge of Tennessee, Piney Flats TN
09/10/2007 - 09/11/2009
Tool and Die Designer using Pro-Engineer
Designing forge dies, closed die hammers, trim tooling and coin tooling
with Pro-Engineer. Incorporate customer design changes, tooling changes,
and quality improvements to all documentation. Documentation control. AS400
maintenance and modifications pertaining to product routing and document
control. Geometric Dimensioning Tolerances (GD&T) and target points to be
maintained. Define shot blast, and heat treat requirements for all parts.
Communication with all departments was a must. Prepared models to verify
that a process could be initialized and completed for quoting of new jobs.
Forging is a multi-step process and needs strong documentation to maintain
repeatability.
Received training classes at Design 2 Solutions (Nashville TN) for Pro-E

3/2003- 6/2007
Solidworks Mechanical Drafter/Designer
Security Clearance
New product models using Solid Works (versions 2002 - 2007) for testing and
research. Created test fixtures and assemblies, tool design, fixtures,
gages as well as bills of material test operations. Drawing and document
file control. Design variations, revisions, and data points per project
were gathered and tracked for analysis and review. FEA using COSMOS and
COSMOS LT. Multiple projects were underway simultaneously requiring focus
and time management. Specific deliverables required attention to size,
weight, and center of gravity though the entire assembly, Geometric
Dimensioning & Tolerances and tolerance stacking knowledge a requirement.
DOD contracts for development of new weapon technologies, precise
documentation to military standards was a must. A low cost standard test
oven was one of projects I did while employed here. Building layout
(remodel) for a move to a new location. I initiated, researched, and
processed Engineering Change Notifications (ECN), gathered and prepared
drawings, sketches, illustrations, pictures, and models for test plans,
presentations, trade shows and product reviews. Available as a resource to
Solid Works users for resolving issues from "how to", import/export, 3D
modeling, printing/plotting, to first angle/third angle, and unit
conversions (metric-inches). I also took on the task of converting archive
documents from older unsupported software (AutoCad), to current format, and
file types (SolidWorks).
