Current Focus
Currently seeking employment in any capacity. I would prefer employment utilizing my professional skills (25 years as a geologist) but as the market is currently poor I am looking for any kind of employment. I have a great interest and understanding of all aspects of energy and would love to continue to work in energy in some way. Otherwise I have past experience in environmental geology, soils analysis, concrete inspection, warehouse and other light industrial work, plastics work, janitorial work, and some customer service. I am competent with MS Office software, several types of scientific software, data collection and analysis, field work, lab work, business analysis, and inventory work. I have plenty of supervisory experience. I am a business owner and have hired and supervised several sub-contractors for on-going work.
Seeking employment as a geologist in oil and gas exploration, environmental consulting, government, or contract work. I have a keen understanding of a variety of topics in geology, energy, hydrology, environmental impacts, and energy economics and logistics.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Geological Sciences from Ohio University, 1991.

Geologist – owner
Blue Dragon Geoscience, LLC
February 2008 – Present (8 years)
Providing operations geology, acreage evaluation, geosteering, and well-site geology services. We have successfully geosteered and/or evaluated over 250 horizontal wells providing valuable structural interpretations, well planning, post-well analysis, and maximizing in-target footage. We provide consulting operations geology and exploration services as well. We can also do mapping, production analysis, statistical studies, core and log analysis, database development and maintenance, geophysical logging supervision, gas analysis, and other geological studies.

GEOLOGY RESUME
I have worked extensively with many oil and gas plays, mainly in the Appalachian Basin, from Pennsylvanian coal beds through the Cambrian Rome Trough sediments. I have worked with complex structural geology in the Mississippian-Devonian in Southern West Virginia and SW Virginia and in the Middle Devonian of Northeast and West-Central Pennsylvania. I have supervised coring operations and picked core and desorption points in wells in West Virginia, Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania. I have worked extensively in development plays such as the Clinton Sandstone in Eastern and Southern Ohio, Mississippian incised valley fill plays in Southern West Virginia, thrust-faulted and fractured siltstone plays, oolitic limestone plays, fluvial-deltaic plays such as the Berea and Clinton sands, fractured shale plays such as the Devonian Lower Huron and Rhinestreet, coal-bed methane plays in Southern West Virginia, Cambrian Rome Trough in Kentucky and West Virginia, the Knox play in eastern Ohio, and Trenton-Black River in Appalachian, Michigan basins and Indiana platform. I mapped the Marcellus and related units throughout the Appalachian Basin in the very early days of the play. I worked in Oriskany structural play in Pennsylvania and Oriskany stratigraphic play in Eastern Ohio. I mapped and characterized the Williamsport (Newburg) sand play in West Virginia. I have an extensive knowledge of Appalachian Basin geology. I have done pressure gradient mapping, production mapping, various types of trend and isopach mapping, geochemical and maturity mapping, gas quality, N2, and BTU mapping, well-siting with surveyors, land and acreage mapping, reservoir drainage analysis, reservoir pressure studies, stimulation/completion analyses, cuttings samples analysis, log analysis, decline curves, reserves analysis, attended frack, cementing, perforation, open-hole and cased-hole logging operations, participated in geochemical and core consortiums, Geological Survey research in several states, oilfield waterflooding analysis, workover planning and assistance, saltwater injection well planning and analysis, formation water tagging, shale plays comparisons, basin modeling, and coal bed and coal mine mapping for casing planning. I have attended many geological and engineering professional meetings, workshops, and symposiums throughout my career. I have extensive well-site experience with mudlogging, geosteering, logging supervision, pipe-running decisions and setting depths, sidewall coring, full coring, helping with wellbore integrity issues, picking perforations, and more.
I have much experience overseeing contractors and planning data and sampling programs: drilling, geophysical logging, mud logging, geosteering, coring, perforating, hydraulic fracturing, aeromagnetic, seismic, and geochemical.
I have studied and/or taken classes in geotechnical engineering, soil science, groundwater hydrology, environmental geology, energy trading markets, utility grid management, renewable energy development, environmental law, oil & gas law, carbon management, climate change, pollution mitigation, and more.
