PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES.

• Collects information on patient’s status from a variety of sources using assessment skills including, communication and physical assessmnet.

• Provide direct patient care to IP department patient in accordance with polices, producers and protocols to includes the following: care for ADL, physical assessment and vital signs, aseptic technique and dressings, removal of sutures, pain assessment and pain management.

• Promotes an environment that enables patient safety, independence, quality of life and health.

• Performs all duties in a professional and confidential manner/ NATURE OF THE WORKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Admission and discharge Procedure

• Administration of medication that is tablets, injections, infusions and transfusions according to standing instructions.

• Assist Doctors in various diagnostic procedures like Lumbar Puncture, Bone Marrow aspiration and Pleural aspiration by preparing patients and get ready with required things

• Assisting Doctors in daily ward rounds

• Performing simple diagnostic procedures like urine analysis, GRBS, vital signs monitoring and recording.

• Maintenance of intake output chart( e.g. .oral, RT feeding, IV fluid, Urine output)

• Management of intra venous fluid,blood transfusions and inotropic ( eg.Dopamine,Dobutamine,etc)

• Care of pressure sore (eg. Frequent back care and positioning)

• Maintenance of nutritional status (eg. Oral and Ng tube feeding)

• Give expert bed side Nursing to all patients

• Assist in planning and administering therapeutically diets to the patient

• Well versed with following procedures like CPR,IV cannulation, Ryles tube insertion,Catheterization,Nebulization,Oxygen administration, Suctioning NURSING PRACTICES

• Admission of the patient

• Assist in the direct care of the patient as and when required

• Bed side bath, oral care,positioning of the patients in and out of bed

• Bed making and care of the unit,checking oxygen, suction pressure,bed side drugs

• Elimination use of bed pans, urinal,enemas,suppositories,flatus tube

• Diagnostic tests – blood sugar using Glucometer, urine analysis, collection of specimen for routine and culture,urine,faces,sputum,wound swab,throat swab, catheter tips

• Nursing treat by cold applicators, cold compress ice cap sponge, hot applications, hot water bag

• Isolation of infected patients

• Administration of oxygen through oxygen cannula and ventury mask

• Care of burns patients use and administration of drugs and fluids GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assisting the student nurses, in the bed side nursing care. 2. Supervising the equipments and supplies of the ward and checking periodically the inventory along with team members.

3. Keeping all ward equipment in good condition by duly checking for the optimum use for the patient.
