Project Title : “p53 expression in gliomas”

PAPER PUBLISHED:

Published a paper based on “p53 expression in Gliomas” in International Journal of Applied Science and Biotechnology, ISSN 2091-2609

PROJECT PROFILE:

The p53 expression in Gliomas is found for sub typing of tumors. The samples were extracted from the paraffin embedded tissue block. The Grade IV and Grade II tested by IHC (Immuno Histo Chemistry) staining procedures. The primary antibody used was p53. It was found that there is a high expression of p53 in Grade IV (82%) that was score 3 and low expression p53 in Grade II (18%) that was score 1. This is in contrast to previous studies of sub typing of Gliomas where, classical type has low expression of p53 and proneural type has high expression of p53. This sub typing was based on score 0-3. Score 1 having 10% positive nucleus, while score 3 have >30% of positive nucleus
