Metso is one of the leading suppliers of minerals processing equipment, systems and services. Metso has revenue of approximately $7.5 billion globally. Metso Brazil has over 2,300 employees.

Responsible for all legal activities and management of legal risks in South America which included Brazil, Peru, Argentina, and Chile. Negotiated and drafted complex contracts, managed relationships with public sector agencies, regulatory authorities and outside counsel. Managed a legal budget of over $3M.

Significant Accomplishments: Reduced 30% of energy costs for the Brazilian operations as a result of renegotiation of the energy contract; Implemented revised sales agreements and other complex contracts to reduce risk to the company, create better business terms for company and compliance with current international laws; Implemented internal compliance program and trained managers and directors in Brazil, Chile and Peru; Contact and manager for any South American contracts with the US Division of Metso; Settled 80% of all civil litigation process including intellectual property cases in Brazil; Lead due diligence process for the internal Metso restructuring and integration of mining and construction and automation business into a new legal entity.
