Resume:

PAUL J. HOROWITZ

* ******** ****

Edgewater, NJ *7020

***-***- ****

Paul is an international C-Suite business executive with a specific forte around starting up and successfully running new business ventures mainly around Technology and in taking stagnating businesses, revamping them and growing them in dramatic fashion. Paul has been the leader of a Tech- nology practice that he grew from 200 staff to 2000 staff in the span of 3 years, the Global leader of the Enterprise Applications group that included some 5,000 staff around the world and about one billion in annual sales, the leader of the Outsourcing/Offshoring practice, the European leader of Architecture and Technology and a multitude of other roles for which he had P&L responsibility.

Paul has been cited as a strong and highly effective leader based on his proven ability to start and grow in dramatic fashion a number of large rev- enue producing businesses for which he had P&L and operational respon- sibilities. As an example, PwC had sold of all of its Technology consulting capabilities including staff and metholdogy to IBM. Paul was asked to come back to the firm from Deloitte Consulting to build a technology concern that would compete head-to-head with the likes of Accenture, IBM, Deloitte and others. In a matter of weeks, Paul pulled together a robust business case for the practice, convinced the analysts that we were serious about rebuild- ing a very differentiated Technology consulting practice, and within months, the Technology practice grew to some 2,500 practitioners that had very high utilization rates and was very profitable. Revenues at that stage were

$500M.

Over the past few years, PwC's consulting practice grew by close to 30% each year and in a down economy. Paul was one of a handful of leaders that was cited as having made a large contribution to this outstanding growth and helping PwC build back an Advisory practice that went from not being on anyone’s radar to a firm that now competes very effectively against the likes of IBM, Accenture, many of the Indian firms and Deloitte. Paul is viewed as an entrepreneurial senior executive with his main focus on building and growing Technology-related concerns. He also has a proven capacity to build businesses both in the US and abroad and has lived and worked in Europe.

Paul was also instrumental in the acquisition of Bearing Point's (BP) con- sulting practice and a number of other key acquisitions for the firm that have been viewed as additive and very successful acquisitions. Paul was the founder and leader of a number of very successful and new business offerings for the firm including a) the Hardware/Software Reseller business ($250M in reveunues), b) the Outsouring/Offshoring/Shared Ser- vice Center business ($150M), the European Architecture practice ($200M) and a host of other businesses.

Paul is currently the firm's lead partner for all large National Pursuits based on his sales acumen. All or most of these pursuits are global in nature, business solution driven and require partnering and joint business relations with other systems integrators, Indian firms or global partners. Paul's en- deavors last year in this capacity helped the firm win an additional $150M in revenues.

Paul is viewed as a rainmaker at the firm from a sales standpoint and has held a variety of leadership positions at both PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte including the following:

• Outsourcing/Offshoring and Shared Services Leader and Founder - Paul was the Firm's leader and founder of Pricewater- houseCoopers Outsourcing/Offshoring and Shared Services Adviso- ry practice and was responsible for taking this practice, which is mainly business process driven from zero staff and no pipeline to now generally recognized as being one of the top outsourcing advi- sory firms. Just three short years ago, this practice did not exist. The global staff count for the Outsourcing/Offshoring and Shared Ser- vices group now totals over 250 staff members. Paul is also a client delivery partner for many of our outsourcing and offshoring clients and has helped PwC clients build the business case for outsouring/ offshoring, assist clients with location analysis for low cost locations across the globe and in helping clients build actionable implementa- tion plans around setting up Shared Services Center and the like.

• National Sales/Pursuit Leader for Business Transformation Ini- tiatives Paul has been recognized by the firm as a leader who knows how to sell and deliver around our client's largest business transformational initiatives and has institutionalized conceptual and strategic selling at the firm. Paul dramatically improved the firm's win rate from less than 25% two years ago to more than 60% on large deals and also improved deal size and time to close deals dramati- cally. Most of this was centered around setting up a formal bid/no bid review process and implementing best practices around single sales objectives, differentiators, understanding who the key technical and user buyers are and training partners and staff to sell more effective- ly and learning to ask for the work. Paul's role here is very hands-on with flying in to help the sales and engagement teams be successful by preparing a winning proposal, getting teams prepped for orals and working the client relationship side of the sale. Total sales around large deals that Paul was directly responsible for helping to drive this past year were over $200M.

• US Technology Practice Leader - Paul was the leader of the firm's very successful technology practice which he grew in just three short years to close to $500M in revenues and from 200 staff to over 2,000 staff members. The Technology practice is now recognized as one of the leading technology consulting practices in the world by all or most of the major analysts and our clients and competing directly with the likes of IBM, Accenture, Deloitte and other large systems in- tegrators. Part of the success of the business included making a number of strategic technology acquisitions; including BearingPoint, NDS and other firms that were viewed as highly successful acquisi- tions both from a culture fit standpoint as well as significantly adding to the bottom line. Paul took the firm post a non-compete with IBM from relative obscurity in the technology space to a technology pow- erhouse in just 3 years.

• Global and US ERP Implementation Leader - While with Deloitte Consulting, Paul was the Global Leader of the ERP implementation practice (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JDE) which was a group of some 5,000 practitioners that produced close to $800M in revenues. • European Technology Leader - Paul lived and worked in Zurich, Switzerland for almost 4 years where he built a European-wide tech- nology capability from the ground up. This role included building up a capability around both hardware/software reselling and technology architecture, including sizing, architecting and configuring systems for clients and working with the likes of IBM, HP and SAP. This busi- ness did not exist prior to Paul coming to Europe. When Paul left 4 years later, this was a $200M business for the firm with a terrific prof- it model.

• Paul has been quoted in a number of publications including the Wall Street Journal and a variety of other publications around the subject of outsourcing, offshoring and technology.

Paul has been with PwC for over 30 years with a focus mainly around technology and has held a variety of leadership positions throughout the years. Paul's main focus is on winning and delivering large and complex business transformations for clients and he is also a recognized expert on Outsourcing and Offshoring. Paul has also worked as an Account Execu- tive for Dun & Bradstreet and for Philips Van Heusen in a variety of roles. Paul is also the quality assurance partner on many large complex en- gagements for the Firm's Advisory practice.

Paul has assisted clients across a variety of industries including financial services, retail and consumer, healthcare and a host of other industries and has assisted literally 100's of clients in transforming their businesses and helping them run more efficiently.
