To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to explore the possibility of pursing a position as a clinical nurse. I began seeking an opportunity as a health care provider in December of 2002 when I applied to the School to Career internship program at Yale New Haven Hospital. While attending college, I obtained a position on a med/surgical unit as a Patient care associate at YNHH. It was then that my desire for nursing became a reality. I learned the fundamentals of caring for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Prior to completing my last year of Nursing School in June 2013, I decided to challenge myself by obtaining a position in the Emergency Department at YNHH. Since I began working in the health care profession in 2002, I have established optimal nurse-patient relationships, strong clinical decision making skills, and have recognized that collaborating with other disciplines is essential to patient care. My ability to critically think while integrating evidenced-based findings, has enhanced my ability to provide the highest level of care. My matriculation from a teenager to a young adult has greatly been influenced by my experience, which has molded me into who I am today.
If given the opportunity for employment, I know I can be an asset to your establishment. I am quick to learn new procedures and policies, hard work and dedication will prove to be of value, which may free you from the in-depth training that would be required for a less experienced candidate.
In closing, I hope you will consider me for a clinical nurse position. Enclosed is a copy of my resume for your review. I would really appreciate the opportunity for an interview to further discuss my qualification.
In the meantime, I thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Mouzon RN

My ability to use clinical expertise allowed prompt diagnosis as well as efficient treatment to a patient; which otherwise would have been overlooked. If not for my repeated advocacy on behalf of the patient we may have failed to properly diagnosis two large hematomas located bilaterally in the lungs.
