Press Operator

Neff Packaging Solutions - Simpsonville, KY - October 2008 to May 2015.

I operated and maintained a "Hybrid" Heidelberg CD102 8/color offset sheet-fed printing press, printing UV or

conventional inks with two in-line anilox coating units. I also filled in as operator on a Heidelberg 6/color

105XL. We produced the highest quality folding cartons on .010 to .028 SBS, CCNB and foil coated

paperboards.

Printing Manager

Ivy Hill Packaging - Louisville, KY - September 1990 to August 2004.

Responsible for all operations and employee development in the Pre-Press and Press departments consisting

of over sixty hourly employees and three supervisors. These departments manufactured high quality printed

products on paper, light paperboard, plastics, and foil substrates with in-line finishing and coating applications.

The Pressroom consisted of fifty two print units on a three shift operation. Pre-press contained four analog

plate makers and two digital output stations.

Additional responsibilities included facilitation of all preventive and corrective maintenance practices plant

wide, which encompassed over forty five million dollars worth of machinery and related support systems.

I also served on the Safety Committee as a Chairperson, the Apprenticeship Committee and the Management

Team. Before entering supervision in 1994, I operated a 50" KBA 6/color offset sheet-fed press with an in-line

aqueous coater and 5/c over 5/c 36" wide Heidelberg web presses and some older generation Royal Zenith

and Harris presses.

I operated 40" Crabtree 5/color and 40" Komori 2/color sheet-fed offset printing presses.

Produced high quality Point of Purchase displays, folding cartons, labels and advertising media.

Substrates included a wide range of cardboards, papers and plastics. Responsibilities included safely

maintaining, setting up and operating the equipment. Managed and trained a three person crew.
