Training and Development of Codes of Conduct for Trustee Boards, Communication Policies, Risk Management Policies and Investment Policies including training on the Distribution of Death Benefits.

4. Conversion of Defined Benefit Plans to Defined Contribution Plans and winding up of Retirement Plans including amalgamation and transfers of retirement Plans. 5. Providing advice on the taxation of Retirement Fund Benefits and surplus distribution by Retirement Plans

6. General Compliance Consulting on Prudential Regulation of Retirement Funds. 7. Performance of financial health checks on the investment profiles of retirement funds. C. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

1. Supervising and Regulating the Retirement Funds Industry in Botswana comprising of about 100 Retirement Funds with Assets of about 50 Billion Botswana Pula ( USD 6.25 Billion). 2. Review of the Botswana Pension and Provident Funds Act, the Insurance Industry Act and the Regulations and the Development and the Implementation of Retirement Fund Prudential Rules for Botswana. The Rules cover Licensing of Retirement Funds, Custodians and Fund Administrators, Returns, Actuarial Reports and valuations, Funding Valuations and Investments.

3. Development and Implementation of a Risk Based System of Retirement Funds Supervision for the Botswana Retirement Funds in line with the recommendations of the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS). This involved Risk Identification and Profiling, Risk Measurement, Risk Mitigation and Monitoring and Reporting. 4. Development of a Performance Management System for the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority.The project included Development of Perspectives, Objectives, Key Performance Indicators, Measures and Targets using the Balanced Scorecard, Personal Development Plans and Performance Reviews.

5. Development of the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) Strategic plan which involved developing the Vision, Mission, Values, Strategic Themes and Objectives, Strategy Map and Corporate Scorecard.

D. KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE INCLUDE:

1. Pensions Management: Setting up 401K Plans both Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit Plans. Setting up departments and systems to managing retirement schemes, analysing effectiveness and producing statements and reports, Attending Trustee Meetings, Handling Compliance issues, Setting up both Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit Funds and their Rules, Amalgamations and Transfer Process of Retirement Funds, Conversions from Defined Benefit Funds to Defined Contribution Funds.

2. Supporting the on-going operational & administrative duties related to Retirement Programs

(Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and Non-Qualified Plans, Retiree Medical and Life Insurance) including supporting the planning, design, implementation, administration and evaluation of Retirement Programs and related services. 3. Performance of financial health checks on the investment profiles of retirement funds including ensuring that retirement funds adhere to prudent investment guidelines and prescribed regulations and carrying out research and preparation of analyses of retirement programs and comparisons to identify gaps or trends and recommend changes, where appropriate. 4. Advising Boards of Trustees and Management of Retirement Funds on compliance with Corporate Governance and Best Practices and Compliance with Legislation including reviewing legal documentation relating to retirement funds including Trust Deeds, Retirement Fund Rules, Investment Management and Custody Agreements including reviewing of the Retirement Funds Legislation and Regulations modelled on global best practice in order to improve pension arrangements, Governance and Developing of Prudential Rules for retirement funds. 5.
