Career Objective

My objective is to obtain a career in a strong and stable work environment. I am a college graduate with several years of management and supervisor experience in chemical and metal manufacturing. I have a background in Project Management, cost estimating, material takeoffs, project scheduling, industrial maintenance, chemical mixing operations, as well as business management, logistics and warehousing. Project Manager

Address all incoming RFQ's from customers.

Review drawing documents and job requirements to ascertain whether or not to bid on the project. If the customer needed any follow-up documentation (i.e. signed intent to bids, certification verification, etc.), I would gather the documents and submit them.

Full material take-off of all components supplied including but not limited to structural steel, grating, and any additional buy-out items.

Compile all structural material take-off on a bid spreadsheet separated by material type (i.e. Wide Flange, Channel, Angle, etc.)

Calculate labor based of the work involved; this also involved calculating the production impact of filet welds and full pens throughout the project.

Gather quotes from all outside vendors, including shipping cost based off per legal load

Create a bid proposal summary based off of information gathered.

In some instances, when drawings were not available for a steel takeoff, I would design and sketch a structure based off working load designs set forth by the AISC, and do a takeoff based on the material and submit a bid and the design sketch to the customer to reference for weights and materials.

Issue jobs to the shop to begin fabrication, and coordinate with purchasing and shipping to begin requisitioning material and other buy-out items once final approved drawings were received from sub-contracted steel detailer.

Create a PM spreadsheet and organize fabrication and delivery priority based off of customer needs and PO allotments, at the same time working with vendors for an expedited delivery.

Responsible for ensuring that the QAM's and SOP's were up to date and included updated protocols set forth by the American Institute of Steel Construction 14th Edition and the American Welding Society D1.1/D1.1M 2015

Responsible for internal auditing and ensuring the company had all the training and libraries required for annual re-certification. Other responsibilities as the DCM included ensuring all shop personnel and customers were provided with current shop and erection drawings if there were any revisions by the customer during the course of the job. This also intertwined with my responsibility as the company's Detailing Manager; to work closely with our subcontracted detailer and the customer to ensure the client’s needs are met and follow standards set forth by the AISC Code of Standard Practice.

Worked directly with existing and potential new customers to bring in new projects to advance our workload. This often involved visiting with the customer onsite or having business or lunch meetings to discuss future projects.

Coordinated and oversaw 20 tons - 500+ ton multiple projects from the starting phase of bidding to final delivery of fabricated material to our numerous customers, while actively holding the role of 5+ different managerial positions.

In my tenure I personally have done 200+ RFQ bids with a PO issue rate greater than 85%.

Production Supervisor/ Warehouse Manager

Supervised daily operations of product manufacturing.

Trained and implemented safety rules for all plant employees.

Implemented and restructured current plant operations to include 5S standards. Tracked daily production and shipping requirements.

Provided maintenance to facility equipment. Monitored employees to ensure production goals.

Lab inspected and tested of daily production materials which included but was not limited to microscopic and chemical examination.

Supervised workers to ensure proper order fulfillment, packaging and shipping of daily sales order.

Receive vendor supplied material for daily production use, tracked and logged daily shipped materials.

Responsible for order pullers and material handlers, as well as product assemblers.

Monitored employees to ensure heat numbers and lot numbers were entered into the ERP system to track materials and so QA/QC could create proper MTR’s.

Daily responsibilities were to perform various plating techniques on materials used in the aviation and aeronautics industry.

Worked hands on with several dangerous chemicals, including cyanide

CPO certified as a QA/QC inspector in order to inspect finished material for accuracy and meeting the standards set for by the customer and the FAA.

Processes included, but was not limited to, reading blueprint designs, running chemical analysis to ensure proper plating and recording and documenting inspection logs.

Certified as an internal ISO and NADCAP auditor to perform weekly and monthly audits to ensure process were being followed accurately and were adhering to customer and FAA guidelines.

With my knowledge of 5S and internal auditing I was able to teach and at the same time learn integrating processes to help cut repetitive work and lower labor costs.

Business/Operations Manager

Quickly rose from being the Business Manager into being the Project Manager for both North Carolina and South Carolina facilities.

Upon acquiring new facilities, I would work with contractors and vendors to maintain facility performance.

Personally plan, engineer, and oversea new and existing sites and renovations. I would be heavily involved in the acquisition phase.

Researching the locations, cost impact of necessary site improvements

Get quotes and create estimates and cost portfolios for renovation and repairs.

Tracked and logged all monetary transactions for the three primary facilities I was over and reported weekly activities to the corporate office.
