Develop custom made recipes for Rubber compounds based on end use application and client specifications.

Project Intern L&T Chiyoda Limited, Vadodara, India May 2013

Engineered the hydraulic design of water utility system of Shah Gas Plant, Abu Dhabi, which was under construction.

Performed hydraulic calculations along the length and breadth of the water utility system to estimate the pressure at different points throughout the pipeline system utilizing fluid mechanics principles.

Estimated the size of the valves to be used in the utility lines based on principles of liquid flow through the orfice, and suggested the specifications of the pump, based on the pressure data compilation, and desired hydraulic throughput.

Adsorption Technique for ethanol recovery from its azeotropic solution May 2014

Designed and built the experimental setup for studying the adsorption of water onto 3A molecular sieve from Ethanol water azeotropic solution in Liquid phase, to enhance the ethanol recovery from its azeotropic solution economically.

Conducted experiments involving adsorption of water molecules at different process conditions and, analyzed the experimental data to determine the optimum condition for obtaining maximum purity of ethanol.

Successfully increased the purity of ethanol by 2% from its azeotropic composition which reduces the cost of production of ethanol and energy foot print in industries significantly, because this process eliminates the need for evaporation.

Design of ECO TAP (Patent application number: 1300/CHE/2014) April 2014

To conceptualize a tap design that addresses the user’s behavioural pitfall of overusing water.

Observed and studied the general behavioral trends of people using commercial faucets at domestic usages, to identify behavioral traits of people in general that is responsible for over usage and wastage of water.

Designed a unidirectional discrete flow variable valve that minimizes the wastage of water in domestic usages by restricting the user’s inherent tendency to overuse water.

Cost Effective Sanitary Napkins September 2013

Worked on a project of social cause aimed at producing low-cost high-performance sanitary napkins to make them affordable for 1000’s of women in poor households of rural India.

Performed laboratory characterization studies on wicking and absorption properties of the material blends prepared from cheap raw materials like banana fibre, cotton, little quantity of super absorbent polymer, and compared the results against the performance of the blends used in the commercial sanitary napkins.

Determined the right proportion of cotton, banana fibre, and super absorbent polymer to make sure its performance in terms of absorption and wicking is on par with the commercial sanitary napkins. Thus was successful in reducing the price of the sanitary napkins tremendously and potentially impact on large demographic of poor households.
