Methylation Analysis Research (June 2014 - May 2015), ASU Biomedical

Informatics program working under Dr Valentin Dinu. Aimed to compare

methylation of genome-wide markers between lean and obese groups using

statistical methods (SAS) and pathway analysis (DAVID) to determine

potential genomic locations and genes which may contribute to insulin

resistance.

Intern/Helios Scholars Program (Summer 2010), Translational Genomics

Research Institute (TGen) - Working under Dr. David Craig, Neurogenomics

Division, Bioinformatics Research Unit, developed an annotator program in

Java to parse through DNA and identify codons containing SNPs in order to

help determine their significance in causing genetic disorders. The

program used information from VCF, UCSC gene, and FASTA file formats.

CAS Program (2005-2009) - Successfully completed 4-year CAS program

required for IB degree, consisting of activities relating to Creativity,

Activity and Service, including Web site development, scuba certification

training and numerous volunteer activities under the review of various

adult mentors

Council of Elders, Villa Montessori School (2008) - Sat on the Council as

an alumni and interviewed middle school students who were completing their

"Heroic Journey" requirements prior to graduation from the program
