•Responsible for proper fitting and patient instruction of soft goods, bracing, electro therapy, bone growth stimulation, traction, DVT prophylaxis, and all other DME products dispensed at clinics.
•Perform custom functional brace measuring, fitting, instructions prescribed by the physicians of the clinic and coordinate with patients for follow-up fitting appointments as necessary.
•Responsible for pre-authorization of DME and associated claims as required by individual insurance contracts.
•Responsible for completion/submission of all appropriate documentation to the medical practice’s in-house/contracted billing service for all authorized DME that which has been properly coded in order to be billed out to patients’ respective insurance carrier(s)
•Following all federal, state and local compliance and regulatory processes as it relates to DME.
•Obtaining Certificate of Medical Necessity forms and patient medical records as necessary, for the billing department for processing of insurance claims.
•Handle all defective products and returns to manufacturers for replacement.
•Identify infection control area for product to be disposed of and educate staff of area requirements.
•Educate and train clinical staff to maintain inventory in accordance with State, Federal, and OSHA regulations.
