Westinghouse – (Nuclear Power Plants) Duncan, SC 29334 AP1000 Nuclear Plant template and support of several plants in China and the US. This AP1000 template will be used on all future AP1000 Nuclear Plants, and is currently in the final stages of detail design. The AP1000 is a two-loop, 1000MWe Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) with passive safety features and extensive plant simplifications that enhance the construction, operation, maintenance and safety. Plant Design Layout/CAE Groups. Responsible for remodeling all major pieces of equipment inside Containment (Reactor Vessel, Reactor Coolant Pumps, Steam Generators, Pressurize, Core Make-up tanks, Accumulators, Passive RHR exchanger and the Hot Leg and Cold Legs)based on the latest vendor prints. I was temporary assigned to Ansaldo Engineering in Genoa, Italy for several months to help this business partner get back on schedule for iso production.
Also responsible for major reroute/detail design layout in side containment for various systems (RCS reactor coolant system, PXS passive core cooling system, PCS passive containment cooling system and others), incorporating (DCP’s)Design Changes Program. This is to expand the existing sales compression system by 23,000 horsepower in order to market the major portion of the remaining sales quality CO2. This is achieved on the LP compression area by adding a new compressor to work in parallel with the existing unit, adding a new suction scrubber and air cooler. On the MP/HP compression area by adding a new compressor to work in parallel with the other four existing units, adding new scrubbers, filters and air coolers. – Plant Design Group. Responsible for equipment and pipe modeling on both LP and MP/HP areas, which includes layout and detail design of all the piping systems (process and utility). Emissions Reduction Project for SynCrude Canada Ltd., Denver CO. This is a retrofit of Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) system into the operation of the two existing fluid cokers at SynCrude’s oil sands facility. – Plant Design Group. Utilizing my supervisory skill set, to provide technical direction, motivation, leadership and assigning work to the PDS piping design team.
