Skills Gained through the years:

• Designed, scratch-built and flew multirotors (Hexacopters and Quadcopters) with imaging payloads to capture and transmit data to a portable ground station.

• I have worked with a team of 4 for our final year project (2013) titled “Unmanned Aerial Vehicle” under a trained professional. This included the complete design, and manufacturing of the designed parts using SolidWorks, including assembling and testing which was done by our team. We completed the project by building the prototype with results that were note-worthy.

For the final project of my master’s degree (2016), I worked on the design and fabrication of a UAV for reconnaissance purpose; this included complete design, fabrication and testing of the UAV and addition of electronics such as flight stabilizer. I also mounted a camera on board and established a downlink to a mobile ground station thus enabling me to receive live video feed from the UAV. Further testing and optimization was done to increase its range and effectiveness during missions.

• Participated in a 3 day national level technical symposium MACHYARD’13 held on campus, as a team we conducted the event “Air Drift”. This included building and flying a customized R.C plane through an obstacle course.

• I also participated in an inter-collegiate event that included designing and fabrication of a

“Rocket Principle” based engine, using readily available items and pressurised water to propel it to the farthest distance, successfully secured the 2nd place.

• Attended “CANSAT2015”, a 3 day workshop on building and programming a low altitude satellite to record and transmit data during its descent.

• Attended a seminar on Composite Materials recent trends and applications (2016). Areas of interest:

• Design and Modelling of any new mechanism relating to mechanical or aerospace applications.

• UAVs, Micro Aerial Vehicles (MAVs) and flapping wing design and various other configurations.

• Artillery for Self-Propelled Guns (SPGs) barrel design with either pneumatic or magnetic launching system.

• Autonomous UAVs.

• Micro jet engines.

Hobbies:

• I like scratch building of RC planes and multirotors for FPV flying.
