Sand body areas to be painted and cover bumpers, windows, and trimmed with masking tape and paper to protect them from the paint. Applied heat to plastic panels, using hot-air welding guns and immersion in hot water, and press the softened panels back into shaped by hand. Cleaned work areas, using air hoses, to removed damaged material and discarded fiberglass strips used in repaired procedures. Cut and tape plastic separating film to outside repaired areas to avoid damaging surrounding surfaces during repaired procedure, and removed tape and wash surfaces after repairs are complete. Filed, ground, sand and smooth filled and repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools. Filled small dents that cannot be worked out with plastic and solder. Fitted and weld replacement parts into place, using wrenches and welding equipment, and ground down welds to smooth them, using power grinders and other tools. Followed supervisors' instructions as to which parts to restore and replaced and how much time the job should take. Inspected repaired vehicles for proper functioning, completion of work, dimensional accuracy, and overall appearance of paint job, and tested drove vehicles to ensure proper alignment and handling.
