2013-2016

Project and Operations Manager, Genuine Restaurant Concepts Santa Barbara, CA As a Project Manager for General Restaurant Concepts, I gathered bids, scheduled trades, and oversaw construction on restaurant projects. In addition, I was a design and location consultant for restaurant remodels. It was my responsibility to oversee some of the highest grossing restaurants in the Santa Barbara area and insure that building and health department codes and inspections met required expectations. I kept detailed equipment logs on all restaurant appliances, walk-ins, CaptiveAire Systems, and HVAC units. Being very familiar with all aspects of restaurant equipment was crucial in making repairs myself while on-site or knowing the proper channel to pursue for an efficient remedy.

It was also my responsibility to do general assessments while on site and prioritize areas needing attention in the order of importance. Due to the nature of the food industry, I would facilitate special projects and repairs during off hours as to not interfere with prep or service.

2012 - 2013

Operations Manager, The Cimarron Group Los Angeles, CA While Operations Manager at the Cimarron Group, I managed in-house couriers and coordinated the secure pick-up, delivery, and vaulting of unreleased motion picture materials. Highly sensitive materials had to be closely monitored and tracked according to MPAA and studio parameters. I maintained detailed foreign and domestic shipping logs, sent detailed accounts of shipping progress, and effectively resolved problems if there were delays. It was my responsibility to handle each project’s weekly schedule and payroll. I also assisted the Vice President of Administration with the Facilities Department. With my experience in supervising construction projects from the ground up, I was able to assess problems that arose. Issues were able to be corrected in a timely manner without affecting the work flow. 2009 - 2012

Ranch Manager, Lion Farms L.L.C. Madera, CA

As one of the ranch managers of Lion Farm’s 10,000 acre operation, I daily managed twenty tractor drivers as well as the work of eight to ten forty-person field crews and a staff of mechanics. Throughout the season, I determined crop load, oversaw the determination of crop viability, and the cane cutting of 2,500 acres of dried on the vine raisin grapes. I oversaw the maintenance and service of 15+ mechanical harvesters valued at over thirteen million dollars. I ensured that daily crew-work was preformed at a sufficient pace and correctly coded to keep costs as low as possible. I also enforced the worker’s safety program and maintained all Worker’s Compensation claims and reports. I managed records and bin marking practices to ensure the 30,000 ton (dried) crop was stored correctly. Weekly maintenance reports and work order issuances also fell under my responsibilities. During harvest, I calibrated the harvesters to maintain maximum yield. I coordinated with the trucking dispatch for the 15 to 20 trucks leaving the harvest location on a daily basis. Keeping precise shipping records to track production was my responsibility so that the correct decisions would be made regarding the propagation of the next year’s crop. 2004 - 2009

Commercial/Industrial Construction Manager – Don Pickett & Associates Fresno, CA Project Superintendent / Estimating / Sales

For the first three years with Don Pickett & Associates, I worked as a Project Superintendent running industrial and office projects ranging from $300,000 to $6,000,000. My daily responsibilities included creating and managing project schedules, reviewing plans, problem solving, managing the quality of subcontractors’ job execution, arranging city inspections, and providing customer service. I have experience in starting projects from initial site preparation, including grading, and wet and dry utilities through the completion of a commercial/industrial business park. Additional experience includes the construction of a project on a methane gas mitigation area. I managed the installation of all of the venting and monitoring systems and worked with the Health Department to ensure that everything was compliant. During my time as a superintendent, I excelled in client satisfaction and getting the job done quickly and correctly.

In 2006 I received a promotion. My new responsibilities included creating job contracts and specification sheets, executing change orders, estimating projects, getting bids, and working with clients on design specifications. During construction, I worked with our draftsmen to find options for clients’ concerns. In addition, I was responsible for implementing solutions to customers’ warranty issues that would be agreeable to both clients and our company. 1996 - 2004

Farm Manager – Circle K Ranch Fowler, CA Management: Crop Spray and Safety Program / Accounting During my years at Circle K Ranch, I managed labor crews and farming operations of a diverse 1,500+ acre farming corporation. The crops farmed included fruit, raisins, and wine grapes. I was responsible for the spray program which included chemical ordering, managing application, along with maintaining spray usage reports. In addition, I conducted safety meetings with employees and managed the OSHA safety program. I also managed the packaging inventory and all produce shipped to the cold storage facility in addition to big box stores. I implemented a positive lot ID program so we could pinpoint by whom and where the product was packed. Other responsibilities included managing a payroll of over 200 employees, overseeing the harvest for all crops, working on the annual farm budget to present to the bank, and coordinating operations for the off-season gift pack business.

Additional Experience

Since 1996 I have also worked at Chadmark Farms, our family’s fresh juicing operation in marketing and shipping of various fresh juices. The implementation of the HACCP plan was my responsibility. As the demand for our products and custom juicing/pasteurizing grew, I began purchasing additional fresh produce including apples, berries, pomegranates, and grapes. My experience and contacts in the farm industry helped me to procure the highest quality produce at optimal prices.
