WORK HISTORY
Cashier, receiving coordinator, 09/2013 to 03/2015
Fry’s electronics – Tempe, AZ
I started off in the customer service department working as a cashier. My duties as a cashier were to help the
customer out in any way possible, I would ring them up and charge them on their objects. I had to learn how to
use the debit and credit card system. Also I learned how to ring up a check, you have to be able to be quick
because there were times when a huge line would come up. Some of my other duties were that I had to go to the
Returns department which I had to help the customers when there was something wrong with the computers,
Televisions, toys, and any electronics that came defected. Another was that I had to cover the café associates on
their lunch break or restroom break. A year later I got offer an opportunity to move departments to the
Receiving department, the position was receiving coordinator. As a receiving coordinator I had be able to scan
everything that had to do with the computer department and also count it and sometimes receive the stuff too. I
had to get into a habit of maintaining a speed and pace to count everything for I can finish it at a certain time
because we had to do transfer outs to different stores such as Las Vegas, California, and Phoenix. Also there
was transfer ins, which came from the states I just mentioned. It was a pretty good amount of work I had to do
by the end of the day.
Security, 01/2012 to 02/2013
Professional security – central and Broadway
As a security in a grocery store I had make sure everything was in order by that I mean that I had a couple of
duties. One was that I had to make sure that the cashiers got safe from one place to another the reason for that
was because they had a tray full of money. I had to keep the door lock in the back, when food trucks came I had
to open the back doors for them. Another thing is I had to keep an eye on the store for shoplifters. During my
time there I got a pretty good amount of those. At the end of the day I made sure that everything was locked up
that the back doors were locked and the front doors too. I learned real quick that when you are a security at
Broadway and central it was no joke and every day you had to be aware and ready for anything.
