Work closely with Product Quality to assure compliance to Engineering and ISO requirements. During my tenure I served as Interim Safety and interim Maintenance Manager for approximately 6 months each. Strategic initiatives reduced this department from 52 to 36 employees. ? Joined this start up operation with patented technology of long fiber glass reinforced compression molding process. Facility expanded from 7 to 43 employees in two years. Responsible for all the start-up documentation and quality systems implementation from a blank sheet of paper.
? Second tier supplier to both Chrysler and GM-Cadillac. Instituted quality-planning team that reduced Dodge Ram cab back panel from 16,000 PPM to less than 800 PPM defectives in less than 4 months. Led customer/supplier development team that created moldable backing for propylene fiber carpet panels that resulted in over 25% per piece savings to Prince Corporation.

Directed Customer returns reduction team that reduced returned goods from $11MM too less than $4MM for same time period.
Installed 5 Quality Planning teams trained all managers in Team Problem Solving and Statistical Problem Solving. Processes include welding, fabrication, injection molding, assembly and finishing.

Supervised two Quality Engineers, one Lab Supervisor, gage technician, 17 inspectors (from 64 initially).
Through proficient use of Design and Process FMEA?s as well as control plans and process flow charts, teams established prevention techniques to reduce scrap rate from 19% to 3% in less than one year. Chaired Quality Steering Team that reduced Cost of Quality from 23% to 5%.
Averaged over $100K annually in cost reductions through quality improvement alone while reducing department from 31 to 17.
PMI manufactures high volume thermoset friction products for OEM and aftermarket brake systems. Customers include Ford, Dayton Walther, Rockwell Int?l., Kelsey Hayes and Dana Corp.
