Worked within a cross-functional team of internal and external partners to initiate cost savings of

$500,000 annually through material use optimization and manual labor reductions.

Lead quality improvement project by identifying, testing, and implementing new package designs

resulting in increased OEE in multiple manufacturing plants and $150,000 yearly savings.

Gained experience with multiple types of substrates and packaging materials through the exposure of

multiple business platforms and business departments to attain a deeper understanding of how different

materials may be used in unison and better protect a product.

Completed training for and familiarized with Campbells packaging specification database, compared

and contrasted similar SKUs in identifying potential supply chain and packaging optimizations resulting

Working to qualify experimental bio based plastic films and establish their feasibility in commercial food

packaging by comparing to current films used in industry.

Testing film effectiveness through quality of food product by measuring microbial growth, headspace gas

readings, weight loss, and discoloration.

Michigan State Packaging & Horticulture Research Assistant May-August 2014

Worked with a flame ionization detector to measure gas content of control and variable samples of packages

of food items in a research project aiming to extend the shelf life of perishable food items using active

packaging.

Learned to operate several types of lab testing equipment such as the Gas Chromatograph-Mass

Spectrometer, glove box, and permeability cells to create data points and analyze trends.

Leveraged relationship building skills to develop relationships with international peers creating a team

atmosphere to achieve project milestones.
