Communicates scheduled appointments for FTTH activations to the FTTH Technicians, Activation Contractors and follows up until service is activated.

Keeps accurate metrics on the performance of planning and scheduling functions and provide timely reports to the Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct and validate all testing of fibre infrastructure network to ensure adherence to all procedures.

Work with Fibre Optic, Ethernet and SDH related test equipment including OTDR, Optical Spectrum Analyser, and BER Test Sets etc.

Perform fiber optic splicing and testing, carry out labelling and tagging of all equipment and cabling according to Network Engineering diagrams.

Supervise all civil works relating to fibre laying including ducts, manholes etc.

Work with the Network Operations Centre for final acceptance and testing of all newly installed fibre cables. Tests to include validation of all provisioning, all alarm monitoring to the Network Management System etc.

Implement transmission work orders (WOs) and validate path budgets to ensure vendors install links as planned.

Other Responsibilities include:
