QUALITY, PROCESS, OR PROJECT ENGINEERING

OBJECTIVE

Seeking a process, quality, or project engineering position that requires my job experience and skills

PRIOR EXPERIENCE

Lean Manufacturing Team Leader: Led two teams of engineering graduate students through Lean and Six Sigma

projects at Topre America and Feintool Tennessee. Analyzed system performance, identified high return initiatives,

presented recommendations, and implemented several improvements. Led teams to optimal performance through

all stages of the projects within narrow time constraints. Synthesized complex data into logical conclusions.

Effectively encouraged operators by using motivational and y-management techniques.

Project Implementation: Coordinating technology projects for the mechanical industry, I led highly skilled teams

through all phases of project implementation to high quality, on-time, and under-budget completion. Pioneering in

my approach, I regularly navigated through product and process improvement initiatives, achieving corporate

objectives with high level of customer satisfaction.

Understanding automotive industry, manufacturing quality, production and technical documentation.

Managing projects with high level of engineering requirements.

Improving several engineering components and processes to increase performance.

Managing data and reporting for operational, scope, quality, cost, and delivery controls.

I hold a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida. I have excellent

mechanical engineering background and experience. I have good problem solving ability and can effectively

communicate in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Improved quality and optimized project management: Joined Westinghouse and tasked with project

management and implementations. Analyzed commercial risks and developed action plan to improve quality and

minimize risks during the project development phase. Maximized cash flow and profitability of each project.

Managed engineering project overseas: Enhanced existing management programs by developing

documentation to efficiently import and export products and parts to Argentina. Created and managed

documentation and a database control system which helped increase project efficiency, increasing quality, and

reducing risks and costs.

Implemented effective quality assurance audits: Conducted ISO 9001 quality assurance audits of international

field sales offices. Established procedures and policies for all of the global field sales operations. Managed

agreements with international sales representatives in foreign countries.

Enhanced components, systems, and processes: Analyzed seal performance to minimize leakages and

maximize turbine performance. Analyzed combustion turbine flow using computational fluid dynamics programs for

enhancement purposes. Calculated and updated combustion turbine design boundary conditions for different

modes of operation. Developed AutoCAD drawings.

CAREER HISTORY

Process Engineer Intern, Feintool Tennessee, May 2015 to March 2016: Lead a Six Sigma project to evaluate

design changes and recommend improvements. Created Value Stream Maps for several parts to identify

bottlenecks, ensure capacity meets demand on time, and analyze current and optimal WIP levels. Determined if

product lines were lean or not by utilizing Factory Physics principles. Created visual and written work and

packaging instructions. Designed a work cell layout. Calculated the cost of downtime and displayed operator

changeover performances using motivating strategies. Performed financial (including insourcing vs outsourcing)

and operational analyses. Assessed a work station and created action items. Synthesized complex data from ERP

system into logical conclusions.

Lean Manufacturing Team Leader, MTSU, Spring 2015: Created a Value Stream Map for a portion of Topre

Americas production line. Collected data (e.g., cycle times and WIP levels). Analyzed its manufacturing process

using Factory Physics and Lean methodologies. Recommended improvements to management.

Independent Teacher, Translator, and Language Consultant, 2001 to 2014: Provided custom Portuguese

teaching program, taught Science at Heritage Christian Academy, taught Pre-Calculus, Algebra I and II, and

Geometry. Interpreted and translated documents from Portuguese to English.

Project Engineer, Lynx Motion Technology, 2000 to 2001: Managed electric motor manufacturing projects in

Argentina maximizing product quality and project efficiency, minimizing risks and costs. Redesigned motor parts

interface improving lifespan by 15%. Developed an epoxy casting and several other manufacturing procedures.

Created and managed a document control system, lessons learned and action items databases, which improved

project efficiency and communications by 15%.

Project Business Administrator, Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation, 1998 to 2000: Managed all

aspects of commercial risk analysis, developed a plan which minimized risks and costs on technology projects.

Created strategic plans maximizing cash flow and profitability ensuring compliance with the commercial

requirements. Maintained a claims program that ensured full cost recovery of claims against vendors for defective

workmanship, which resulted in increased project profitability by 8%.

International Marketing Representative, Westinghouse Power Generation, 1996 to 1998: Established

procedures and policies for all of the global field sales operations. Conducted ISO 9001 quality assurance audits of

international field sales offices. Coordinated the process to establish agreements with international sales

representatives utilized for the marketing efforts in foreign countries to facilitate interfacing with customers.

Mechanical Engineer, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, 1995 to1996: Analyzed combustion turbine flow

using Computational Fluid Dynamics Programs, which resulted in product increased efficiency. Analyzed seal

performance to minimize leakages and maximize turbine performance.

Mechanical Engineer Intern, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, 1993 to 1995: Generated and analyzed finite

elements models of combustion turbine components to ensure design superiority. Redesigned a vane module to

solve cracking issues. Published a cracking analysis report to assist co-workers in future corrective actions.

Earlier: Engineering Intern, Southern Nuclear Operating Company - Coordinated all the design changes.
