Career Summary
Over 5 years of proven design expertise as a Process Engineer in the Oil and Gas field. My technical experience includes several large projects that require strong project execution and people management skills, in the areas of feasibility studies, phase of engineering in FEED and Detailed Design Engineering (EPCIC). Known for being an organized engineer, I am also patient and calm in managing difficult and demanding clients. I am also able to work under immense pressure and still meet tight deadlines.
Professional Strengths
Strong technical engineering skills in process design area.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
The ability to explain complicated technical issues in simple logic terms.
Strong co-ordination, team-building and communication skills.
Good knowledge of industry standards and engineering practices related to process design and safety.
Career Highlights
Spearheaded fuel gas and produced water treatment (utilities) detailed design phase for Libra FPSO.
Involved in the CCR unit detailed design phase for Nghi Son Refinery project.
Instrumental in produced water treatment and instrument air / nitrogen (utilities) from FEED phase to detailed design phase for Petronas FLNG.
Working Experience
Process, Engineer Technip Geoproduction (M) Sdn. Bhd (Dec 2010 – present)
Job Responsibilities
My recent role in Libra FPSO was being lead for a small team comprising 7 team members for the fuel gas system and produced water treatment system. I managed the design phase for the systems and scheduling for work to be issued on time. I also liaised with the clients constantly ensuring the smooth progression and cost saving ideas for my systems. On the technical side, I ensured all sizing, both for instruments and equipments are executed in line with the engineering standards. I also participated in HAZOP with clients and other engineering disciplines.
In other projects, my roles were much similar whereby I prepared and updated Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID), shutdown hierarchy, cause and effects and many more. Calculation notes and line sizing, generating simulations, unit descriptions, and design basis preparation were done throughout my years of working tenure in projects like Nghi Son refinery, Petronas FLNG and Maharaja Lela South project.
Achievements
In my recent project, the client asked me to review the design for my system which will result in a delay the issuance of my document and eventually other systems and related documents thus affecting the work schedule. Client had insisted to review the design as they had not seen it before in any of their past projects.
Immediately I lead my team members and we worked on our reply by providing hydraulic calculation notes with the support of the simulations and other resources with my vast technical knowledge and good analytical skills. Besides that, I organized series of teleconference calls and meetings with the clients as I wanted to ensure that the design was robust, safe and more importantly, cheaper in terms of the cost. The design was eventually approved by the client and the document was issued in the end without delay.
Projects
1.
Client
:
Petrobras / Odebrecht Oil & Gas and Teekay (OOGTK)
Jurong Shipyard Pte Ltd (JSPL)
Project Title
:
Libra FPSO (June 2014 – Sept 2015)
Project Description
:
The floating facility is expected to be chartered to Petrobras for work on the Libra field in the ultra-deepwater section of Brazil’s Santos Basin as an early well-test unit. The project is part of the conversion of a shuttle tanker into a floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which is being built at the Jurong Shipyard in Singapore.
The FPSO will be based in Libra field, offshore Brazil, at a water depth of approximately 2,500 m. Once completed, it will have a capacity of 50,000 bopd and 4 MMcmgd
2.
Client
:
Total E&P Borneo B.V
Project Title
:
Maharaja Lela South (MLS) (Nov 2013 – June 2014)
Project Description
:
This project aims at the modification of the onshore facilities as well as the construction of a new onshore pipeline, in order to transport Maharaja Lela & Jamalulalam South (MLJS) gas to the Brunei Liquefied Natural Gas (BLNG) plant.
The onshore modification work includes:
- De-bottlenecking of the processing plant to enable handling up to 5 million cubic meters per day (annual average) from the greater MLJ field
- Associated assistance in start-up and performance test.
3.
Client
:
JGCS Consortium
Project Title
:
Nghi Son Refinery Project (NSRP) (Jul 2013 – Nov 2013)
Project Description
:
The refinery will process 200,000 BPSD of imported Kuwait Export Crude (KEC) oil. The fuels section of the refinery includes Residue Hydrodesulphurisation and Residue Catalytic Cracking as the main upgrading units. The refinery is integrated with petrochemical production. The Aromatics Complex produces Paraxylene and Benzene. A key product from the Residue Catalytic Cracker Unit is Propylene which is used to produce Polypropylene product.
