Seadrill, South Korea February 2015 – Present

QHSE Lead Advisor of Rig Intake

Creation of rig specific portion of the Company Safety Management system (TMS). Doing it at this early stage saves two months of non productive time when operational, at a cost of $600K per day. An approximate saving of $37.2M.

Liaising with client on project progress in daily and weekly meetings.

Personnel training in company policies, procedures, and Safety Case.

Permit to work/Isolation training.

Working at height awareness training.

Training Safety Officers to ensure competence in daily duties during operations.

Creating and maintaining mentor program for all new personnel to the project.

Creating and maintaining Safety Case (UK). Keeping this in house initially saved $100K for creation and will continue to save $30K per year for the life cycle of the document.

Barrier management creation and implementation. This is the first unit within the company to have barrier management. Therefore I also created the Company Barrier management Directives and Procedures.

Creating and maintaining all performance standards in relation to rig specific barrier management. Seadrill, Dubai February 2014 – February 2015

QHSE Manager for construction phase of Semi Submersible drilling rig

Building spec Gap analysis between Norwegian and Canadian regulations. Producing this document saved four months of construction time, and $100M in lost time and extra materials.

Supervision of a 14 man crew.

Delegation of tasks to crew to ensure completion of set directives with regards to Operations preparations.

Monitoring creation of equipment trees. The creation of such documents at this stage in the project has shown to save up to 500 man hours per week when the drilling rig is operational.

Monitoring and advising on purchasing. Using historic data from previous projects of similar scale I was able to make savings on average of 10% per month.

Reporting directly to operations preparations manager. Seadrill, Colombia October 2011 – February 2014

QHSE Manager, operations

Day to day analysis of HSE metrics and statistics.

Daily meetings with 3rd party and client personnel

Sourced more than 80% of PPE locally rather than shipping from Houston saving $3M over the duration on the project

Weekly/Monthly reporting of all rig related QHSE statistics to Director of QHSE Seadrill Americas

Bridging document creation and implementation to ensure full compliance with all companies safety management systems

Supervised a two year drilling campaign in Colombia with zero lost time incidents

Contact person for any QHSE related issues for rig personnel, as well as back-up rig manager when needed

Training crews in Process safety

Safety case creation and implementation

Developed and implemented a new joint training initiative between Equion and Seadrill to 400 personnel over six months Seadrill, Norway and Dubai January 2008 – October 2011 QHSE Coordinator, Operations

Responsible for the general HSE on all rigs within the region, including approximately 1400 offshore personnel and 250 onshore personnel. The offshore units were a mix of drill ships, semi submersibles, jack up, and tender rigs.

Providing HSE statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to Seadrill senior management and the client

Spearheaded a healthy eating and personal training program which is now in its fifth year with over 200 participants Seadrill, Singapore July 2007 – January 2008

Safety Officer, Construction phase of Drilling Rig

Meeting daily with management onboard the vessel.

Chairing pre-shift meetings with all crews to highlight certain hazards associated with the upcoming operations.

Leading weekly safety meetings, setting our safety focus for the coming week.

Member of the Fire team, Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO), and Confined Space Rescue Team.

Data input from Observation cards on a daily basis. Over the time in this position I raised participation levels in observation reporting from zero to a minimum of one card per person per day.

Liaising with shore based management daily on any Safety related concerns.

Coordinated and executed weekly health, hazard, and hygiene inspections.

The entire new build project and sail from Singapore to Brazil was done with zero recordable incidents.

The build of the Semi submersible drilling rig was done two months ahead of scheduled with a cost savings of $25M. Seadrill, United Kingdom January 2006 – June 2007
