Magneti Marelli Powertrain (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) May 2015

Preventive maintenance intern whose responsibilities were to analyze and determine the root cause of machine breakdowns, develop methods to address these issues and initiate projects for continuous improvement.

Led a team that developed and implemented Kaizen projects to address breakdowns and increase machine availability, resulting in cost savings of $32,800.

Developed a systematic process of data collection to help arrive at accurate Mean Time between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time to Replace (MTTr) values.

Identified components, based on the data obtained above, and developed projects to increase the life span of these components (MTBF), which resulted in further savings.

Worked with quality control and manufacturing personnel to develop techniques to reduce scrap rate, resulting in an increase in overall equipment efficiency (OEE).

Trained in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies and provided the maintenance team the necessary data and technical support to transition from Time Based Maintenance (TBM) to Condition Based Maintenance (CBM). Six Sigma - Green Belt Certified January 2014

Trained in the lean manufacturing concepts, FMEA, applications of lean tools like Poka Yoke, 4M, 5S, etc.

Trained to perform SPC using Minitab and perform regression analysis, ANOVA and chi-squared tests. Ford Motors India Limited July 2012

Used statistical software- SAS to perform SPC, pertaining to the dimensional accuracy of the stamping process to create the door frames and spot welds on the frame for their flagship model Figo.

Part of a team that implemented methods to achieve and maintain Six Sigma standards in these two processes based on results of the data analysis.

Performed value stream mapping and time studies to determine bottle-neck areas and helped launch projects to ease these bottle-necks.

Gained invaluable experience of understanding the working of automated machinery like CNC’s and robotic arms used for welding, as well as an insight on how decisions are made and executed in an organization such as Ford. Design & Development of Press Tool for Pressed Part- Back Plate TVS- Brakes India Limited March 2014

Assisted in the development process of creating a back plate for Ford Motors India.

Extensively used AutoCAD, Pro-E and ANSYS for creating and testing the models.

Designed the tools for the various pressing stages that are required to obtain the profile of a back plate.

Developed a process plan and a material/process flow chart for the design and manufacture of the press tools. Intern at India Pistons Limited July 2013

Assisted in streamlining the manufacturing processes through line balancing to reduce idle time of workstations.

Helped improve the process efficiency by reducing the percentage of scrap and rejects.

Gained practical knowledge on the quality control methodologies used to ensure that the products meet the Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications

TECHNICAL PUBLICATION July 2012

Co-Author of a technical paper titled “Experimental Investigation on Machining of Titanium-Nitride Coated Carbide Insert on Inconel 800” which was published in the WASET (World Academy of Science Engineering and Technology) journal. TECHNICAL SKILLS

AutoCAD, Pro-E, Solidworks, ANSYS, VisualDOC, modeFRONTIER, MATLAB, Minitab, SAS, C, C++, Microsoft Word & Excel.
