OVERALL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Review approved drawings & scope of work and Monitoring welding Activities as per WPS.
Review of WPS, PQR, and welder qualification and verification of material test reports as per client requirements
Check pipe spool fit up, joint identification and dimensional inspection
Visual inspection of weld joints for different materials by different process
Monitoring stage wise welding jobs & fixing pre- & post heat treatment of materials during welding
Review of subcontractors Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), and Welder Qualification test (WQT)
Ensure that Qualified Welders, WPS & PQR are used to perform tasks and NDT (UT, RT & MPI) requirements are fulfilled as per ITP
Selection of an appropriate inspection/NDT techniques as per codes/standards and specifications
Assigning tasks and supervising NDT contractors and all the inspection work. Thorough inspection reports & familiar with most of the inspection standards & codes for all the piping, static equipment’s
Executing Turn around inspection of following as per codes and company procedures
Witnessing of Welding Procedure Qualification and Welder Qualification tests and Destructive Testing of Specimens
Familiar with following NDT equipments / Methods
MPT – Electro / Permanent Magnetic yoke, prod type with Dry / Wet fluorescent / Non Fluorescent methods
PT – Solvent removable and water washable methods
UT /UTG – PX-10, EX-10, MicroScan, Modesonic
