Developed and implemented an inventory control and production reporting program that streamlined information to accounting
Wrote and executed standard operating procedures and work instructions for all aspects of production operations to include safety, quality and productivity.
Created and Implemented (E-Kanban) Automated Ordering System. This allowed the customer to place orders for material and receive the order within 30 minutes. This Improved material handling process and reduce costs. Valuable space near machinery can now be better utilized due to the reduction in inventory. Results: Improved efficiency and reduced manpower in the department by two team members per shift. Further reduced the need of additional equipment for transportation.
Developed method for a zero balance system. Tracking material usage and yield to determine rate of consumption. Zero balance now does not allow a team member to report scrap that is not accounted for. Results: Actual scrap less than 2%, positive impact to customer service, and improved financial results.
Reorganized the U.S. operation for assembly of desktop computers. Analyzed cost structure and price volatility to determine which components were susceptible to large price and technology fluctuations. Established assembly methodology to minimize impact of rapid and radical changes in key components. Results: Reduced impact of component pricing swings on assembled units from 30%-40% to 3%-8%. Increased and stabilized profit margin.
Developed new technology for further reducing scrap. Digitally mapping the defects in steel, then cutting out the defects reduced the supplier’s scrap by 18%. Exclusive pricing production with major integrated mills. Results: Additional revenue generating stream that adds value to the process.
