oAs Crisis Negotiator for the Grant County, Indiana Sheriff’s department, persuaded gunman near an elementary school to surrender to the S.W.A.T. team; arranged for gunman to be psychiatrically assessed.
Result: Violence was avoided and disturbed individual was provided appropriate care.

Founded a private psychiatric specialty hospital and served as its CEO; led the institution through JCAHO accreditation and achieved financial break even for investors by the end of the second year. The hospital successfully served a troubled population and drew referrals from Chicago, Detroit and Indianapolis. After five years of operation, sold the hospital to a private health care system.
