Developed and prepared annual operating budget for employee wages, apparel, and personal protective equipment as well as laboratory equipment working in close collaboration with site’s supply chain and external contractors.

Participated in projects related to cost reductions, yield improvements, energy conservation, and product quality, safety, and industrial hygiene to improve overall operations.

Implemented Choline Fenofibrate process in South Chemical area achieving startup date goal and improving the yield by 3% in first year.

APL Production Section Manager

Reorganized labor force at APL Plant in Puerto Rico integrating a chemical plant built in 1993 with a fermentation plant built in 1970 increasing efficiency and effectiveness of its operation expanding the area covered by each chemical operator as well as decreasing the necessary labor per lot after conducting the first site’s labor –hour evaluation that yielded more than $1.5 M in savings in 2009.

Implemented an effective leadership administration at Manufacturing Chemical Operations based on fostering highly motivational atmosphere valuing each individual that resulted in significant ideas for process improvements and cost savings/avoidance as well as lower operational errors and higher employee empowerment.

Coordinated site wide Red Cross Blood Donation Campaign in 2005 and 2007.

Participated in site’s Regala Un Día community outreach activity to benefit Fondos Unidos de Puerto Rico during three consecutive years with hands-on involvement in construction and remodeling of structures.

Teamed with chemical plant supervisors and other managers to improve total safety incidents in 2009 reducing First Aid cases by 75% and total incidents by 58% in comparison with 2008.

Transferred HMDO by-product to a single tank prior to transportation to Germany for processing.

Purchased color-coded utensils aligned with new product color codes that improved material flow in plant.
