PERFORMANCE SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Timely monitoring of schedules and time tables

Assisting the train driver in testing the air brakes on the train

Couple and uncouple vehicles as and when required

Observe, interpret and relay arm or radio signals when needed

Inspect train equipment condition on a regular basis

Throw track switches/ points to facilitate shunting and tie handbrakes

Observe signals from other crew members

Making sure equipment, doors and controls are working properly

Making sure passengers gets on and of the train safely

Observe the platform when train departs from platform

Dealing with unexpected delays

Write reports, detailing any delays or incident that accrue during each journey

Ensure train is operated in accordance with operating standards and procedure
