RESPONSIBILITIES AS MECHANICAL ENGINEER-QA/QC:

Review the ITP submitted by the vendor and to check whether it is line with the CODES/Standards mentioned in the data sheets and Purchase specification.

To check the mechanical & Chemical Properties of the material grade for the pressure containing and the pressure controlling parts in line with the material grade mentioned in the data sheets

Mechanical properties based on their test result (Tensile, Hardness, Impact Test for LTCS & DSS). To check the results based on the acceptance criteria mentioned in the applicable standards

Chemical composition based on their test result and to check results based on the acceptance criteria mentioned in the applicable standards.

Corrosion testing for SS, DSS and for CRA ( Nickel Alloy )–Forgings

Control of Hold, Witness & Review point based on the criticality of the project and the extend of inspection required

Applicable CODES/Standards followed for the Pressure and Leak Test ( Both Hydro & Pneumatic)

Acceptable leakage rate in the Pressure and Leak Test as per the applicable CODES/Standards

Fugitive Emission test requirements

Low Temperature Testing requirements

Hardness, chemical, mechanical properties of weld overlay sample for weld overlay valves and to check the final thickness of overlay after machining. This includes the Hard facing in metal seated Valves

AS A WELDING INSPECTOR

Consumables storage, handling and issuing conditions

Welding equipment conditions and their calibration status

Co-ordinate with Welders, foreman, Site supervisors and welding engineer to ensure job completed on time

To ensure Pre heat, Inter Pass temperatures are maintained as approved WPS

Follow up stage wise inspection as per approved ITP

PWHT carried out as per approved PWHT procedure

Effective co-ordination of NDT ( RT, UT,MP,PT whichever applicable ) before PWHT and after PWHT if required

Pressure and Leak test ( Hydro test/ Pneumatic ) tests if required
