OBJECTIVE

QUALITY ENGINEER/MECHANICAL INSPECTOR

QUALIFICATIONS

Progressive 20-year quality background and experience in commercial aviation, defense/aerospace, military, medical, electronic, and plastic manufacturing industries. Provide engineering and technical support in organization, development, implementation, coordinating, training, monitoring, and improving quality system program activities.

Review customer contracts, product specifications, and quality requirements. Performed project planning and scheduling. Generate and initiated production releases, manufacturing travelers, purchase orders, requisitions, and product certification.

Performed supplier/vendor qualification and approval activities. Conduct source survey, source inspection, auditing, and reporting in accordance with Mil-Std-1535A. Participated in establishing, planning, scheduling, documenting, and reporting internal and external auditing.

Strong background experience with CMM DCC and conventional 3 axis Coordinate measuring machines w/ Renishaw PH1 to PH10 touch probe with complex parts. Performed maker and user programs with Brown and Sharp Validator/Microval, Image, Advantage, Optima, and Geo. PC-DMIS MR1 C++. MITUTOYO “B” Series (Geopak 2000 system software), Bendix Cordax, and DEA.

First article, receiving, in process, and final inspection/test. Mil-I-45208A/Mil-Std-120. Capable of measuring close tolerance machined parts, sheet metal, forging, castings, tooling, welding, and assemblies. Perform inspection/test on PCB/PWB, soldering, wiring, harnessing, etc. CNC/NC manufacturing environment experience. ROHAS and IPC 610 familiarization.

Drawing interpretation skills and familiarization with the applications of Geometrical Tolerance and Allowances per ASME Y14.5M ’94. Electrical, piping, and welding schematic and drawing experience.

Proficient in the applications and techniques of dimensional measurement using precision measuring instruments . 0001 accuracy. Calipers, height gages, surface plate set-ups, micrometers, optical comparators, vision systems, toolmaker microscopes, gage blocks, optical flats, thread gages, etc.

Statistical Process Control experience. Develop written inspection and test process procedures establishing inspection/test methods, equipment, acceptance criteria’s, defect classification, and appropriate sampling plans in accordance with ANSI/ASQC Z1.4-1980 and/or Z1.9-1980. Performed data evaluation, analysis, and summarization for constructing SPC control charts. Histograms, Pi charts, and graphs.

Knowledgeable of metrology/calibration system organization, control, service, recall and calibration of precision measuring instruments in accordance with Mil-Std 45662 and NIST system programs. Performed and develop inspection tooling/fixture design, repair, maintenance, and calibration of precision measuring instruments.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Experienced with XP, MS 2000, ’98, and NT operating systems. Highly proficient with MS Office Pro Edition consisting of MS Access, Excel, Word, Power point, Outlook, and Publisher.
