I developed and fully implemented marketing strategies and business goals for Suffolk Life Newspaper. With greater than 15 years at executive level in print media, 5 years experience in research, data base marketing and on line strategy development.. Bridged the relationship gap between Suffolk Life and over 200 agencies and counselors in Suffolk County by providing awareness of the newspaper’s purpose and ability to provide a satisfactory advertising/marketing media for clients. Newspaper had a current circulation of 502,000 mailed weekly to Long Island residents and businesses. Also reviewed commission rates, client to agency copy flow and newspaper’s editorial approach, which treated agencies as clients rather than competitors. Actions and strategies derived greater revenue through realization that interaction with clients was also interaction with agencies.

Managed a staff of 40 employees that generated advertising revenues for the newspaper. Recruited, equipped and trained a new sales team defined the segment of the group most effective in the field and directed that group to sales targets and profit expectations. With a staff of six sales people, I developed the concept of a free, strategically circulated newspaper that provided tourists with the opportunity to know the ins and outs of the North and South Forks of Long Island. Developed attainable quotas, sold expense ratios, territorial new profit, territory market share, sales coverage effectiveness index, call frequency ratios, average cost per call, average sales and non selling activities, and their overall effect on the project.
