• Project: Binational Water Quality Monitoring in the Lower Rio Grande/Rio Bravo (project funded by IBWC and TCEQ).

Led a team of 6 members to carry out a water quality monitoring project on the Rio Grande River along the US-Mexico border

Responsible for making inventories of items required for sampling of field measurements

Obtained flow data or measurements at each site for the day samples that are collected

Pre and post calibration of YSI multi-probe data sondes for measuring DO onsite

Make routine field measurements and field observations, such as water temperature, pH, DO, specific conductance, transparency (Secchi depth), stream velocity, flow (where necessary), flow severity and floating material/scum percent cover; field observations include air temperature, weather, wind intensity and wind direction

Collected water samples from the outfalls of ten wastewater treatment facilities and at least two down ditch locations and store all samples in ice pending shipment to the laboratories for analysis
