Recruited to analyze, document and define steps necessary to remove four major systems written in RPG that had been made obsolete by the Massachusetts Insurance Commissioner. Modified an Insurance Statistical Reporting System written in RPG IV,LE to utilize FTP in place of Tapes for reporting to outside agencies.

Contract Programmer/Analyst – RPGIV, ILE

Designed and programmed a MinMax Inventory, production and customer ship scheduling system in RPGIV and ILE using prototypes, procedures, service programs, triggers, and subprocedures. Programs scheduled customer shipments based upon daily min/max values retrieved from customers web sites, generated manufacturing work order recommendations based upon min/max supply levels and EOP/EOQ.

Key Achievements:

Programs were instrumental in reducing the number of "red" parts from 65% to 15% in the first 6-months the system was implemented thus improving the customers service level rating for the company

Upgrade of JD Edwards software from version 7.2 to 7.3 cum 11. Retrofitted in house program modifications to JDE version 7.3 programs. Applied all available SAR's to bring software up to Cum 11 level. Modified all non-JD Edwards programs to make them Y2K compatible. Performed extensive testing to verify modified programs functioned correctly.

Designed and programmed changes to JDE Forecasting System based upon customer requirements. Wrote Maintenance program to permit the modification of shipment history and allowed input of multiple manual forecasts allocated to multiple plant requirements. Interfaced with JDE Mfg as front-end load to MRP system.

Key Achievements:

Y2K Program modifications were successfully implemented by the turn of the century. New forecasting process allowed company to identify high margin products; pinpoint potential product shortfalls or surpluses and react faster to expand or contract inventory levels thus lowering overall product cost.

Contract Programmer/Analyst – RPGIII, RPGIV

Responsible for the Design, Programming, Installation, Education and Maintenance of the "PSI System". It included a forecasting module interfacing with JDEdwards files that permitted users to input forecasts using actual shipment history as its basis. Forecasts were input by multiple departments using PC based data. Interactive screens were also used to modify forecasts.

Designed a Pseudo MRP process that used the input from the forecasting process as the Material Requirements. Interfaced the JDE files to permit visibility of 3-Years of past shipment history accurate through the previous days shipments, available Inventory including On Hand and In Transit with anticipated delivery dates, On Order with delivery dates and Current Customer Orders with projected due dates. Supplied a work screen encompassing all above data that generated a month by month material requirements calculation that could be changed interactively as a "what if" process. This process was used by the buyers to determine Manufacturing, Purchasing and Offshore requirements and capacities.

Contract Programmer - RPGIII

Involved in upgrading the Innovative Transportation and Distribution Software. Designed and programmed a Tractor/Trailer Maintenance system for a fleet of 400 tractors and 1200 trailers. System included capturing vehicle usage data and statistics that were used to schedule periodic maintenance. Kept track of and generated reports on hub mileage and fuel usage.

Created a mini Accounting/Parts Inventory System that allocated labor and maintenance costs on all vehicle maintenance, kept stock parts in inventory and generated purchase orders when required. Interfaced PM maintenance messages, Parts available messages to the Innovative Driver Maintenance System.

Penn Insurance Company, St Louis, MO

Designed and Wrote a reinsurance System that was used to track and facilitate the company with its reinsurance process. Process included the sale of an interest in large blocks of insurance coverage's to spread the liability among multiple carriers. Included the accounting and allocating of premiums and

claims within multiple companies.
