-Designed liquid helium and cryogen free superconducting magnet systems including custom cryostats with top and bottom sample loading.

-Designed an ultra low temperature helium-3 cryostat with base temperature of 300 mK.

-Designed a Delusion Refrigerator (DR) with base temperature 6.6 mK and 15 Tesla superconducting magnet for Scanning Probe Metrology.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

MIT, Cambridge, MA 2002 - 2012

-Designed cryogenics, vacuum chambers and cryostats for experimental devices with superconducting magnets from conceptual and assembly drawings to detail drawings and BOM, installation and later modifications.

-Designed experimental equipment, with liquid helium, nitrogen and cryocoolers, vacuum charging station for inductively charged superconducting magnet, liquid helium feedthrough for magnet in the vacuum chamber, orientation mechanism, electrical connectors and launcher-catcher system for a 1200 lb magnetically levitated magnet.

-Designed support and alignment system for a 10-ton superconducting magnet for inductive charging. Developed an installation procedure and tracked the progress of installation and alignment of the magnet.

-Designed vacuum chamber, support, cryogenic components for a medical proton radiography cyclotron with a superconducting magnet.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

-Integrated electrical components and systems with a mechanical design.

-Designed and fabricated new generations of wafer metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry.

-Developed modular designs for Measurement, Wafer-Handler and Treatment modules, including design of system layout, internal structure, framing and packaging.

-Created new probe head, probe holder, leveling device, sensor assembly, control fixture, swing and slide door mechanisms, light generator and receiver holder (for fiber optic cable) with positioning repeatability of 0.0001”.

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

-Designed automated assembly stations for components of Ford’s speedometer, as well as assembly stations of arrows for other speedometers and gauges.

-Designed gearboxes, spindles and rotating mechanical components, worked with large complex sheet metal, welding construction of frames, bases, guards and wide variety of chambers for rolling mills, shredders, recycling equipment and other heavy machinery.

-Designed core winder machine, adjustable device of hot melt glue sprimotion, semiautomatic skew systems on pearch machines, and wide variety of handling equipment.

-Improved design of poly-wrap machine, created accumulator (j-box), loading and guiding devices, stainless steel color pipes.

SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER

Automatic Machinery Manufacturing Company, Minsk, USSR 1980 – 1990

-Responsible for conceptual design of custom machine tools and automated assembly systems for manufacturing of parts for mass production.

Design and development included:

-Automatic fixturing devices with pneumatic, hydraulic and electric drive.

-Rotary and linear feed tables for multi-spindle machine tools. Chain, step-by-step and other special conveyers. Multi-station in line palletized and non-palletized transfer machines.

-Manipulating mechanisms and robotics.

-Material handling equipment, cast iron and welded support-structures, beds and slides.

-Responsible for design, detail drawing and BOM of ordinary and special precision devices, for lathes, milling machine, broaching tools, grinding, honing and shaving machines. Calculations and design drill bits, milling cutters, broach as well as complex gear cutting tools.
