Formula SAE India (Supra SAE):
Designed and built a prototype of formula style race car with the objective of minimal weight and maximum safety for the Supra 2012 national event. Dealt with technical and managerial aspects of this project.
Lead the drive train department in a group of 20 students and designed the rear engine compartment and took care of grinding, welding, and profiling of the Body in white (BIW) fabrication jobs of the car.
Vehicle Occupant Packaging, design of driver’s cockpit, design of Instrument cluster, selection of steering wheel and driver’s seat.
Developed the CAD model of roll cage in CATIA and performed stress analysis using ANSYS.
The University of Michigan- Dearborn
Vehicle Ergonomics, Vehicle Packaging, Human Factors, User Interface & Design.
Driver’s Package Evaluation- Evaluated important driver package dimensions of Mazda 3 considering driver anthropometric data, packaging tools and SAE guidelines.
Controls and Displays- Conducted a Human Factors evaluation of controls and displays mounted on the driver’s door, Instrument panel and steering column of 2004 Toyota Solara and suitable ergonomic improvements were made.
Interior Package Evaluation Techniques, Exterior Package Consideration – Conducted a Task analyses for Entry/Exit issues, Maintenance features related to Engine compartment and loading /unloading trunk issues.
Heat recovery using Thermoelectric Generators- Captured the waste heat emitted by various heat sources in Automobiles (Exhaust Manifold) and re-use it to increase the overall efficiency of the unit.
Evaluation of Vehicle Occupant Packaging & Driver’s Field of View
Vehicle Lighting Evaluation
Benchmarking & QFD, Preliminary Vehicle Target Specifications Using Pugh Diagram
User Interface Design Considerations and Improvements of Self-Checkout Machine
Request for proposal in Industrial Project Management & control
8th Annual ergonomic design competition- Identified and evaluated the major ergonomic risks in the daily routine of a hairstylist and a hotel room attendant by using Digital Human modelling/ Simulation by Siemens Jack and provided necessary actions to eliminate or reduce the risks. Usage of RULA, REBA, NIOSH lifting guide lines, OSHA guidelines and conducted EJA surveys.
