PROJECT EXPERIENCE:
Automated Valve (Senior Project):
Part of a team of four engineering students that designed and manufactured an automated butterfly valve for a brewing system. The project involved the use of Pro/Engineer (Creo Parametric) to aid in the design of the valve along with creating detailed 3D models and drawings for each part and assembly. Manufacturing of all parts, calculations, C++ coding, a technical report and a formal presentation were all included with the project.
Boe Bot Project:
Worked with a team of four engineering students that designed a shooting mechanism attached to a Boe-Bot robot that included a BASIC Stamp 2 micro-controller. Built a simple circuit and created a BASIC Stamp code for the robot. The project included a final test run which consisted of a set course for the robot to run through while simultaneously firing table tennis balls through targets.
House Foundation:
Worked with a team of construction workers to create the foundation for a new house. Assisted in excavating the footings and plumbing trenches, pouring and leveling the sand and gravel, installing the foundation rebar, pouring and leveling the concrete, and installing the anchor bolts on top the foundation walls.
Bamboo/Carbon Fiber Bike Frame:
Individually built a road bike frame out of bamboo and carbon fiber. Measured and carefully cut the bamboo shoots with a dremel tool. Used epoxy resin and carbon fiber tow to wrap each joint. Sanded and clear coated the final product. Fully assembled all the components onto the frame.
