PROFILE
A dedicated and innovative Quality Manager, with over 30 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Nondestructive Inspection, as well as 20+ years of experience in Composites, casting / forging receiving inspection and supplier audits and approvals, 15 years experience in both Detail and Major Assemblies and 10+ years Supplier Quality, including auditing and approvals for special processes for NDI, Heat Treat, coatings, and metallurgical / composite lab testing U.S. and abroad. Developed several innovative programs to decrease or eliminate non-value added tasks, including Nondestructive Inspection in lieu of Destructive Tests, both for initial and periodic testing. This has included the use of Statistical Process Control for production inspection and materials testing, supplier direct buy programs to eliminate multiple handling of machined casting and forging product, and select Supplier Certification Programs.
Successfully collaborated extensively with Design and Stress Engineering during the Design Phase of several programs in accordance with Mil-Std 1907 to assure inspectability, both in production and in the field
Developed for FAA approval of Production Certification (PC) for Beechcraft Starship all composite aircraft
Modified Beech / Raytheon Quality system for FAA approval on clean sheet design for Hawker Beechcraft Model 4000
Developed inspection method for main spar on Beech T-34 Trainer (post crash investigation) to provide for return to service after grounding the fleet
Developed Ultrasonic inspection in lieu of destructive test for void content on composites for Beech Starship program which garnered FAA approval (late 1980’s)
