Fleet Manager, US Xpress Enterprises October **** to Present
Focus here is on customer service and the driver. Fleet size ranged from 50 to over 100 trucks. Availability percentages at or near 90% on a continual basis made possible by keeping accurate availability times and ensuring drivers are home on time and back to work on time. This position requires me to be heavily involved in the training program by working with the trainers as they are working with the students identifying negative trends and developing case specific plans to better equip the student.
Driver Manager, Knight Transportation March 2010 to September 2011
As a driver manager at Knight Transportation, I managed a fleet of 35 trucks on average. A level of trust and individual rapport was established with each driver in an effort to reduce driver turnover and help ensure driver job satisfaction. Weekly financial reporting as well as mileage and revenue goals were also parts of this position.
Freight Manager, B&B Trucking April 2009 to January 2010
As freight manager, I ran a freight division of up to seven trucks, dispatched trucks, negotiated backhaul rates, conducted cold-call and phone sales and completed several bid contracts with companies such as Solutia. Operations Manager, Mt Airy Trucking May 2007 to January 2009

Human resource duties such as hiring, discipline up to and including termination were part of the typical duties. Load scheduling, brokerage, dispatch of up to thirteen trucks, as well as assisting in implementing new drug and alcohol policies were all part of my job. During my tenure, the DRSEA and VHSEA ratings both dropped over 30 points and the company was in line for a DOT audit upon the company’s closing.
Driver Trainer, American Standard Building Systems July 2003 to May 2007

Driver, B&B Trucking April 2000 to June 2003
While at B&B Trucking, I drove flat bed, tanker, 40’ frameless dump, dry van, and specialized trailers. B&B used me as a floater from division to division as needs arose.
