Projects:

Implementation of median filter and edge detection using FPGA

Description: Median Filter is an impulse noise removal filter used in image processing. Project

work includes an accurate median filter design and implementation of edge detection algorithm to

detect all the possible edges in an image. This filter has been implemented by using HDL language

and emulated on virtex2-pro working 100MHz clock frequency.

Challenges:

- Analysis of multiple median filters algorithm to select the most sophisticated and flexible

one.

- Implementation of module in salt & pepper noise environment

- Integration issue of median filter and canny edge detection.

- Synchronization issue at interconnect level between two modules.

- Design verification of developed module in both IP lever and subsystem level.

Technology: Adaptive median filter, Canny edge detection

HARDWARE: FPGA kit Virtex2-pro

Tool: Xilinx ISE, MATLAB.

Interfacing of RS-232 with FPGA.

Description- Designed a UART interface in VHDL and implemented the same on FPGA. Project

also induces the interface of RS232 port to FPGA kit. Performed a loop back communication

system between PC and FPGA kit.

Tool: Xilinx ISE.

Voice controlled robot

Description- Designed a Robot which work as a vehicle. This Robot operates by human voice.

Robot performs some tasks like move left, right, forward, backward and stop.

Tool: MATLAB

Moisture Detector

Description- This circuit detects the moisture of soil and maintains the water level of soil.

Other academic activities:

Presented a seminar on Gate Diffusion Input Technique at National Institute of Technology,

Calicut.

Secured 3rd position in Electronic junk yard conducted by Truba College Engineering &

Technology, Indore.
