I teach Spanish to very part time to third, fourth and fifth grade boys at a small private school for
underprivileged children in southeast DC. This is a position I will be maintaining for the rest of the
2014-2015 academic year.

For three years I served parishes in the United Methodist Church. These included congregations of
varying sizes with a wide array of people.
Reason for Leaving: I chose to take a teaching position.
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS, FARMVILLE,
VIRGINIA september 2011-may 2013
I held numerous short-term and long-term substitute teaching positions in a school district in central
Virginia. This included special needs three and four year olds and teaching Spanish PreK-4. I also held a
position teaching fifth grade science.
MEMBER STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION OF JAMES MADISON
UNIVERSITY AUGUST 2007-MAY 2011
I served four academic years as the senator representing the College of Education. During my time in
the student senate I served on several committees including the Diversity and Community Affairs
committees. For one year I was chairman of the Finance Committee where I helped manage an annual
budget of $300,000. I led the committee in networking with student organizations that were seeking
funding. I also started and led a task force that lobbied a bill to pass a law in Virginia that would grant
American Sign Language as a foreign language to meet academic requirements and to advocate
beginning a minor in American Sign Language program at James Madison University. In 2011 I was
named Senator of the Year.
