Responsible for the general maintenance of Yard Tractors, Trailers
and Heavy Duty Yard Equipment.
Change engine oil and oil filters, fuel filters, replace injectors,
change timing belts and pulleys.
Remove engine from unit, replace parts such as turbo chargers,
injector pumps, alternators, stop solenoid, brake pumps, starters,
water pumps and install engine in units.
Remove and replace transmission in units, conduct general
servicing, change transmission oil and oil filters, valve bank,
replace pressure and temperature switches and program clutch
adjustments.
Overhaul hydraulic cylinders, do pressure checks on hydraulic
systems, change hydraulic pumps, and solenoid valves. Replace
hydraulic Switches. Check hydraulic fault codes on PLC.
Function check hydraulic circuits.
Remove and replace wet disk brake chamber. Overhaul brake
chamber; replace friction plates and clutch disk, replace seals and
pressure heck brake chamber. Replace brake fittings, fabricate
brake tubes and pipes.
Replace brake shoes, replace and adjust park brake cable, replace
brake cylinder and brake adjuster, adjust brakes, replace brake
drums. Assemble and disassemble backing plate. Inspect brake
linings.
Remove and replace air compressors, air dryers, air tanks, check
for air leaks, replace air valves. Check air pressure.
Read and interact with PLC display unit, diagnose fault codes, set
and verify PLC parameters, Trouble shoot PLC circuits and
function check PLC circuits. Replace relays, fuse, circuit breakers,
diodes, input and output blocks, verify wiring diagrams and circuit
connections.
Replace and adjust suspension parts; replace dampers, leaf springs,
shock absorber/struts, replace steering arm, tie rods, steering
control arms, conduct alignment. Replace wheel bearing, cone
wheel hubs. Remove and replace wheels.
