Commercial Real Estate Underwriter
Prepare Credit Memorandums for senior management analyzing the likelihood of a borrower to repay a
loan obligation. This includes analyzing the cash flow of the underlying property utilized Argus and
Excel, surrounding market data, demographic data and credit worthiness and collateral of the
borrower and guarantor.
Underwrote and closed $400MM of commercial real estate loans (60 loans) in 18 months. Property
types include stabilized or transitioning residential, office and retail properties within the New York
metro area.
Review and analyze financial statements, tax returns and real estate cash flow statements of borrowers
and guarantors.
Coordinate with outside parties for appraisals, background checks and environmental reviews.
Interface with the credit officers, portfolio management and legal group to facilitate the underwriting,
closing and transition deals to portfolio management.
Involved in the entire deal process through closing, including the review of loan documents and
insurance certificates.
