IAC - Health Insurance
Developed three related web sites for different lines of business of an independent health
insurance provider. The sites’ audiences were agents licensed to sell the policies to
individuals. Each had a rating engine that, when given the demographics of the proposed
insured, would generate a health insurance policy quote. Each site’s rating engine was similar,
but had unique criteria as each product differed. Once the individual accepted a quote, the
agent would guide them through the online application process. Upon completion of the
application, a dynamic PDF was generated, the data collected, encrypted and transmitted to
the underwriting provider.
A companion Windows Forms application was developed that leverage the same rating data
as well as business logic. The “Quote Disk” was used to generate quotes for paper
applications where an agent was unable to access the Internet portal.
Collectively, these sites generated tens of thousands of applications resulting in many millions
in revenue.
MyAgency Agent Portal / Web Site Creation
MyAgency was a site creation/agent management tool designed for medium to large
independent insurance agencies. Each agency was able to select a theme and features of
their site. Each agent was able to create a theme-based individual site as well. The portal
managed agents, their sales, as well as products an agent was licensed to offer.
IdeaStar - CreataSphere
CreataSphere was a framework for creating content managed web sites. The backend
framework was installed for a client and template pages created with placeholders for specific
media content. Many former clients are still actively using CreataSphere today.
Russell Assessments - Employment Assessments
Based on the Umbraco CMS, Russell Assessments provided employers with pre-employment
psychological assessments of potential job candidates, or of existing employees seeking
advancement. Developer an assessment engine where each assessment can be constructed
using an online administrative page. Candidates are sent email invitations to participate in the
assessment. The employer tracks assessment progress via email and an online portal.
TMW – DAL
Refactored the current Data Access Layer classes of a transportation industry ERP system to
be database agnostic. The previous DAL was tightly coupled with SQL Server. There was a

desire to port the application to DB2 or Oracle. The task was to strip all SQL Server specific
functionality from the implementation using a provider design pattern.
TMW - ALK Mapping
Directed by the TMW CEO after acquiring ALK Maps to develop a single mapping component
that all business units within the organization would consume. This provided the various
products a unified look and way to visualize geospatial data. Coordinated development effort
across multiple offices in the USA and Canada.
TMW - Company Planner
Developed a flexible, customizable transportation management dashboard component within
the ERP system. Administrators can create an unlimited number of dashboards containing any
number of cells. Each cell can be as simple as a grid of data, a map showing a given truck’s
location, or specialized cells to assist in transportation planning. A system of events and
subscribers can be configured to link the functionality of one cell to another. Created a SDK to
allow customers to create their own specialized cell types.
TMW - 3G Integration
Currently in process, managing the development of a RESTful integration system, linking the
TMW ERP applications to a third party transportation rating and optimization system. Each
TMW application, TMW Operations (.NET), TruckMate (Delphi) and Innovative (RPG) will
communicate with 3G over a single Web API designed for optimum stability and upgradability.
