tons of fuel, hazardous materials or equipment to transport to and from US
military bases throughout Iraq in support of our coalition forces. It was my
responsibility to upload and download cargo as specified in the TMR’s and to
ensure they were secure and safe for transport throughout each mission. I
also assisted our Convoy Commanders with verifying of all documentation
and cargo prior to departing on mission, ensuring cargo complied with Army
regulations.
I participated in Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and Total Safety Task
Instruction (TSTI) focusing on loading/unloading, proper ground guiding and
safety policies and procedures, observing all safety rules which included
wearing personal protective equipment.
Performed fuel transport of JP-8, DF-2 and Mogas in 6,000
gallon tankers.
I ensured stringent safety measures and Standard Operating Procedures
were followed in the uploading, transportation and downloading of fuel.
I also observed emergency precautions ensuring safety of personnel and
facilities.
Connected hoses, valves and operating pumps to upload and download
petroleum products into and out of tankers, checking the volume and
temperature of each.
