Personal Mission Statement
• I am a dedicated and hardworking individual. One of my strongest aspects is being able to assess a
situation and gauge how much work is needed to accomplish a goal. I have always been interested in
languages and am very dedicated to following through on any advancement of education I can attain.
Maximizing efficiency is something that is important to me, as well as learning and growing as a person.
I have never been unwilling to seek out advice and counsel when I felt there was something I needed to
know more about.
Academic Experience
• I have a B.A. in Linguistics from the University of Arizona with 3 minors: Chinese, Spanish, and
Special Education.
• I am able to speak Mandarin Chinese very fluently, sign ASL (American Sign Language) to high
proficiency, and also am communicative in Spanish and French.
• I have experience with writing extended research papers and with thinking critically on new ideas in
fields that I feel passionate about.
• I have always been very active in participating in as many academic opportunities as I can. These
include the many lectures, guest speakers, and conferences available to me at the University of Arizona.

growth, tumors, and increased levels of E-Cadherin, which leads to metastasis.

Leadership Skills
• I attended the National Student Leadership Conference for a 2 week leadership program emphasizing
international relations during the summer of 2005.
• I also served as a committee chair for HCA (The Honors College Ambassadors), an honors recruitment
program which hosts prospective honors students and National Scholars at the University of Arizona. I
trained all 150 members in how to conduct themselves as a representative of the University and of the
Honors College.
• I worked in a leadership position as an ESL teacher where I was responsible for organizing
extracurricular events.
Community Service
• Participated in fundraising for 4 years at the United States’ largest student run carnival in Tucson, AZ
during my time at the University of Arizona.
• Was a member of the SWES (Soils, Water & Environmental Science) Club at the University
of Arizona and helped run environmental awareness events and clean trash from national park
grounds
